Trip Report A Detailed October Trip Report For You!

IMG_8019.jpeg

Fiancé (30M) and I (30F) are heading back home today after a truly wonderful 5 night stay on Disney property (All Star Movies — The Mighty Ducks section), from Sunday 10/22 to today, Friday, 10/27. In the middle of planning our trip, we got engaged, moved cross country, and both entered our thirties. A lot to celebrate! Report time! Under each day there is a breakdown of spending & attractions (which includes shows).

Sidenotes: Yes, we did skip Epcot. We’re also non-drinkers so we saved a lot simply by avoiding alcohol. Each morning we had quick breakfast from our Walmart delivery order, like mini muffins and canned iced coffee. We didn’t buy G+ because one of us has DAS access; we did buy one ILL.

**Pre-Trip Expenses:**
  • Roundtrip airfare: $896 (covered by reward miles)
  • Five nights at All Star Movies: $746.71
  • Two three-parks tickets via undercover tourist: $840 (covered by credit card churning)
  • Two MNSSHP tickets for 10/24: $344 (covered by credit card churning)
  • Memory Maker Facebook share group: $26.40
  • Basic MagicBands: $21

  • $2,874.11 total minus $2,080 in rewards = $794.11

***Sunday, 10/22***
I chose to stay in The Mighty Ducks section because it is very close (4 minutes walking) to All Star Music busses so it felt like a preferred location for the standard price.
  • Lyft MCO to ASMo: $51 (with tip!)
  • Chicken Guy! @ Disney Springs (2 tender combos): $24.48
  • Lego Minifig Factory (made 2): $25.54
  • World of Disney (2 Nuimos & 1 Oswald ears): $79.84
  • Coca-Cola Store (one International Flight): $17
  • All Star Movies Food Court (2 super slices of pepperoni): $21.05
  • Walmart+ Delivery, with tip: $50 (iced coffee cans, muffins, pop tarts, string cheese, bottled water and bottled soda, sunscreen)
  • Ash’s Bakeshop (6 delivered baked goods): $38.70

  • $307.61 / 6 MILES / 15,600 STEPS

***Monday, 10/23***
Our first day at the parks! Chose Hollywood Studios. Getting to the bus stop 90 minutes before early entry was KEY, because we got to be the literal first group at one of the DHS turnstiles. Honestly, Oga’s was super disappointing — too crowded to be fun. Fantasmic! is amazing, but y’all know that!
  • ILL for ROTR: $46.86
  • Blue Milk: $9.57
  • Classic Ronto Wrap: $14.15
  • Oga’s (2 nonalcoholic drinks with tip): $18.98
  • Wookie Cookie: $7.23
  • Frozen Apple Cider: $5.31
  • Sci-Fi Dine In (1 burger with onion rings and 2 sodas): $47
  • Two cups of ice cream at Hollywood Scoops: $14.46

  • $163.56 / 9 MILES / 22,000 STEPS / 16 ATTRACTIONS / 9 CHARACTERS
  • Disney Magic: When I met Hollywood Minnie Mouse I showed her my engagement ring and she made such a love fuss about it and about us! It was so cute! At the end the CMs scanned my magicband for the PhotoPass photos. When we got back to our resort at like 10:30pm, we found two Happily Ever After pins and a card signed by Mickey congratulating us. It was surreal. No one at our resort knew - just Minnie and her friends!
Attractions: SDD X3, TSM, ROTR X2, MFSR X2, MMRR X2, MuppetVision, Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, Vacation Fun, TOT, Rockin’ Rollercoaster, Fantasmic!

Characters: Sorcerer Mickey, Hollywood Minnie, Daisy, The Mandolorian & Grogu, & Darth Vader; and from afar we saw Goofy, Kyle Ren, Stormtroopers, & Chewie

***Tuesday, 10/24***
This was our MNSSHP day, so we slept in, explored our resort, had lunch. Our party priorities were the parade, the stage show, Winnie the Pooh & Friends (we gave them Halloween bracelets we made!), and enjoying the vibes. Honestly, this party was very overwhelming for us. Because it was our first MK day we felt like we wanted to do rides and the party stuff so we got flustered a bit, even though we had a plan to begin with. But the parade is the best thing ever and we got a lot of character interactions, right by Pecos Bill!
  • Steakhouse 71 lunch (1 stack burger, two sodas, 1 onion rings, 1 cappuccino, with tip): $60
  • Cheshire Cat Witch’s Brew: $5.63
  • Two Buffalo Chicken Handpies: $21.28
  • Corn milkshake: $7.44
  • Sweet potato fries: $9.04

  • $103.12 / 8.2 MILES / 20,500 STEPS / 13 ATTRACTIONS / 6 CHARACTERS
  • Magical Moment: Our waitress at SH71 gave us two free cupcakes after we explained our Happily Ever After pins!
  • Not so Magical: Storybook Circus closed during fireworks due to high wind so we couldn’t see Halloween Donald & Daisy. We also got trapped during the first parade for a bit… Oh well.

Attractions: Space Mountain, 7DMT, PeopleMover, Little Mermaid (why is this ride so lackluster?!), BTMR, POTC, Pooh, Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear, IASW, Barnstormer, the second Boo to You! Parade, & the last Hocus Pocus Spelltacular

Characters: Pirate Goofy, Winnie the Pooh Characters in Costume (Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet), & Mickey Mouse (he also got a bracelet from us!)

***Wednesday, 10/25***
Animal Kingdom! What an amazing park. It was chill, slightly overcast, very shady, and we felt like we could stay there forever. Go to Nomad Lounge. DINOSAUR is so underrated.
  • Nomad Lounge (Cuban sliders, Impossible sliders, two mocktails, and 1 order of churros, plus tip): $70 — ***worth the hype***
  • Orange soda Dole Whip: $6.91
  • Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese & 1 soda: $18.08
  • Cheeseburger Pod (by itself as a side): $6.91

  • $101.90 / 8.6 MILES / 21,000 STEPS / 13 ATTRACTIONS / 4 CHARACTERS
  • On our second EE ride, I left my Donald Duck Ears in the ride pouch, and when we went back to ask the rollercoaster CMs and then waited, no luck. So we rode it again. After getting off our third EE ride, they had my ears and gave them to us! Yay! BUT THEN we realized my fiancé left his phone during that third ride and we panicked and went back and they also had his phone which had just been found. OMFG. We think the Yeti was mad at us, lol. Thank you to Meg and Fernando at EE!!!!!
Attractions: DINOSAUR X2, EE X3, FOP X2, NRJ X2, Triceratops Spin, FOTLK, Kilimanjaro Safari, & ITTBAB
Characters: Donald & Daisy in their Dino wear and Mickey & Minnie in their Safari wear!

***Thursday, 10/26***
Our last park day: Magic Kingdom on a MNSSHP party day. It was THE best! We were the third group at one of the MK turnstiles by getting to the busses 90 minutes before EE, so like 6:50-7am. The crowds were low all the way up until party guests arrived. Polynesian for dinner.
  • 1 cinnamon roll (extra icing!) at Gaston’s Tavern: $7.44
  • 2 Starbucks drinks at Main Street Bakery: $13.53
  • Sleepy Hollow chicken/waffle sandwich with chips: $12.34 (**so so good!**)
  • Sully Slushy: $6.91
  • Cap’t Cooks - 1 pork nachos, 1 pork sandwich with fries, and 1 soda: $27.76
  • 1 pineapple & vanilla swirl dole whip: $5.85
  • Set of Disney reusable straws: $12.77

  • $86.60 / 8.8 MILES / 22,000 STEPS / 22 ATTRACTIONS

Attractions: 7DMT X2, Pooh, PPF, IASW, Teacups, Dumbo, POTC, Jungle Cruise, Tiki Room, BTMR, Buzz Lightyear, Space Mountain, MILF, TRON, PeopleMover, Astro Orbiter, COP, PhilarMagic, Carousel, WDW Railroad, & Enchanted Tales with Belle

***Friday, 10/27***
Our flights home weren’t until after 5pm so we checked out at 11am, took a rideshare to AKL for brunch at BOMA and then explored the beautiful grounds. This is my dream resort.
  • Lyft to AKL from ASMo, with tip: $10
  • BOMA brunch with one latte plus tip: $101.04
  • Pack of Zebra domes and 2 Shakin’ Jamaican cold brews: $14.45
  • Lyft from AKL to MCO: $41.88
  • Airport dinner (Bojangles): $24
  • Lyft home: $55

  • $246.37 / 3.2 MILES / 8,000 STEPS

In conclusion…
  • $1,803.27 spent which includes $2,080 in churning/rewards so I guess the value/true cost would be **$3,883.27**
  • 43.8 miles / 6 days = 7.3 miles/day average
If you’re still here, thank you!!! It has been very fun and bittersweet to recount our wonderful time at Disney!
