A Call To Arms!

Actually if you want to email please write to wdw.guest.communications@disney.com - That is the quickest way. And for god's sake please do not call that phone number that he listed - that is the line to MK Guest relations and they have 1 poor CM answering that phone who has no input in the decision. The operator line is 407-824-2222, but that will not solve much.

Got a site up to save the Sunshine Season Food Fair?

I think that's included in his Save the Land thread that's going around.

I'm glad we saved CoP. We can't let another one of Walt's classics go down the drain. Go Grizz!!! :sohappy:

I have to say that I just returned from MK and saw CoP for the first time, with my 6 year old son. He and I both LOVED it. I could really sense what a classic this is and I'm so glad we took the time to see it.

COP is a classic. My family and I were thrilled to be able to experience it during our last couple of visits, and we are also excited that it will still be open when we return in July. It is a real crowd pleaser, and shouldn't be relegated to seasonal operation!

I don't think it was so much the fact that ANYBODY saved is so much as the fact that SOMETHING had to be open in tomorrowland while rehabs were going on.

My money says that CoP goes away as soon as they get a replacement in line.....it's really the only reason it's still around. Disney has shown that they aren't afraid to get rid of it (DL anyone?).

Count me in as another person who loves CoP and would hate to see it go. My basic philosophy is that if no one ever complains to Disney about removing attraction(s), then there is a 100% chance that nothing will change. At least if we appropriately voice our concerns about saving Carousel of Progress to WDW, then it has a chance of surviving.

Count me in too. I will always be there to save this ride. The problem is, unfortuantly so many don't know its rich history, and I don't mean blah blah blah 1964 world's fair.

So much of the 1964 and 1967 version was lost when it moved to Walt Disney World in 1975, and all the changes it has experienced since then. Even the 1994 rewrite using "There's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow", is NOTHING at all comparable as to how the show was original presented. That was truly magical.

Regaurdless of the state the ride is in now, we must not allow this ride, Walt's Favorite, to succumb to the heartless and evil forces of the current Disney Management. I don't think they will close it permantly any time soon, but my God, the crowds have increased, and the ride has seen great revues from families, and reriders alike. It must be refurbished.

It would do much better in EPCOT, not in tomorrowland. I know Grizz I said this to you before, but maybe, just maybe they [Disney], would give it to the New York State Museum, which is only minutes away from General Electric's headquarters. I think GE would probably be interested in sponcoring the ride again, once out of the greedy hands of Disney.

Its not closed, yet anyway

Why all of a sudden did you say it was closed. It was open two weeks ago when I was there. I know it is open only seasonally though and lately it has been open everyday because of the alien encounter closing.

I am very worried it may be shut down after Stitch open though. We do have to keep pushing but I dont think the new Disney listens to the guests anymore. No one wanted Mr Toad to close.

Can you tell me why you said it is closed now. I added my name and email but now am worried this was done for some other reason.

Thank you

I wanted Toad to close...I hate that ride. If CoP closes...well, life will go on. Disneyland's CoP has been closed for decades, so it's certainly not out of the question for ours to close. It's Tomorrowland--ever-changing (that's the problem with having something dedicated to the future).

For my 2 cents...
Carousel should be moved to Epcot.
Look at Wonders of Life. The building actually looks a bit like Progressland from the World's Fair. Why not reinvent Progressland? Put in CoP, the City of the Future model, etc?
