It’s time for an Aladdin E-ticket

Guys, this is probably the last of the really big Renaissance films to never have an actual ride made for it.

Do you think it’s time?

It would fit right in at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Tokyo DisneySea, DAW, DLP, Disneylandforward, HKDL, or even the upcoming Shanghai second park and Abu Dhabi parks.

The opportunities are genuinely endless for Aladdin, and I believe it is one of the most underutilized of Disney’s IP to be leveraged into the parks.

I’d like if they started out with a book report dark ride with TBA-level animatronics, just for an E-ticket, but for other experiences. I mean…

They could make like a Cave of Wonders or Jafar themed rollercoaster that would work too as an E-ticket too.

Sort of like how Hagrid’s works at Islands of Adventure today as an expansion of a Potter, so Aladdin actually works either as its own entire “Agrabah land,” so you can just plop it anywhere as its own IP land, or integrate it as part of a larger land (and just do a single E-ticket) like MK Adventureland/Morocco Pavilion/Egypt Pavilion.

Makes you wonder what would happen in a world if Disney didn’t have a monopoly on so much IP and also that it’s nearly impossible to be a theme park player without an established presence, if that Aladdin couldn’t have become—in some alternate universe—Harry Potter level. Because it’s so beloved by genz and millennials. It is crazy Disney hasn’t listened to market demand and built an actual ride as a monument for our love for this movie!

I mean, in theory, it could’ve happened.

So here’s to hoping for the future!

Maybe an Aladdin themed version of the new Peter Pan ride in Tokyo DisneySea? Looks like that ride simulates flying pretty well. Not sure what the best spot would be but I could see them doing world showcase.

That would actually be AWESOME.

Like if in the spirit of that, we brought that over to MK, that would be a massive win!

Though, imagine that for Aladdin instead with purpose-built AAs like Tiana’s!!!!

That’s how I envision this.

A KUKA Magic Flying Carpet concept would be unspeakably cool and would definitely go viral on social media too.

Another concept is just as its own Agrabah land, like it functionally is as good as Hogsmeade, in theory.

All it would take would be branding/marketing the experience and quality of the land.

So you have a $300M offering as a single E-ticket expansion with a ride and gift shop, or a $1 billion dollar bet for an entire land. IP can be used for either and likely should be spread differently across resorts, but we need to see an E-ticket for it in America IMO.

I mean just mouthing off, with Disney’s D2C push and digital branding becoming streamlined, it would make sense to make Aladdin a larger franchise in the parks. It’s a headliner IP, it’s time for it to be treated like it.

Either as entire new lands like potentially in Abu Dhabi, or integrated in existing areas like MK’s Adventureland, EPCOT’s Morocco, or TDS’s Arabian Coast.

Aladdin, Inside Out, and Lilo and Stitch, Moana, man they’re so underused it’s insane.

Wouldn’t surprise me if in under 10 years we had E-tickets for all of them sprinkled across the planet.

Ummmmm, let’s see:

Beauty & the Beast has a ride in Tokyo
Little Mermaid has a dark ride at WDW & DCA
Aladdin has magic carpet rides at MK, Paris and Tokyo

Tarzan has a treehouse and Lion King has a ride being built at Paris.

That’s it. 4 of the 10 have a ride, Aladdin being one of them!

I don't think we need any more single IP lands, at least in the American parks. Just building an Aladdin dark ride in Adventureland would be fine.

Honestly, though? Considering how bad the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast dark rides turned out, I'm not sure we should trust Disney to make a good Aladdin dark ride.

What are you even talking about. They have that great Cave of Wonders on the Storybook Canal in Disneyland already. No need.
You can’t generally be comparing that to a dark ride costing hundreds of millions.

If Encanto and Lion King are getting ones, absolutely no reason Aladdin shouldn’t as part of the next phase, same with Moana, Lilo and Stitch, Inside Out, and The Incredibles.

But I’d personally want Aladdin over any of those.

A flat ride isn’t like a dark ride or E-ticket, that’s like Six Flags logic of just “oh it has a name.

Yea it’s like Inside Out has a flat ride, but is that really what an “Inside Out” looks like or it it just a carnival ride at a boardwalk?

They have their place, but Arabian Coast should have a dark ride, for instance already, same with MK’s Adventureland/EPCOT and DLP. It would be very popular if done right.

You know what I mean.

You literally stated Aladdin is probably the last of the Renaissance movies to get a ride.

If you discount the spinners, only 2 of them have, and one of them is crap! With a 3rd being built.

My point is the biggest Renaissance films are sort of

Lion King, Beauty, Aladdin, and Mermaid.

Only 1 of those doesn’t have like a dark ride (or coming) like at all. It’s a tragedy we didn’t get the original Mermaid concept, but it’s “something.”

Idk though, Aladdin needs something major. Hercules too though Aladdin is even bigger and IMO better.

Thinking about future expansions it is one of their better things to use, right?

I’d rather see Poppins, Aristocats and Lady & the Tramp personally.

There are 10 Renaissance movies though. Aladdin is not the last.

There's a place for an Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride roller coaster...

But they'd have to buy the rights for that name from Steppenwolf.
