Let me tell y'all a funny little story! Brian and I have been trying to decide what to do this summer. He suggested that we check out some new zoos. I know he had Toledo, Detroit, Cleveland, Akron, Knoxville, etc in mind (all within a day's drive of Dayton). I thought about it briefly and suggested that maybe we could take a day trip to the well regarded Zoo Tampa from our hotel at a Disney Resort. With no hesitation, he said let's do it! A few minutes later, this happened:
That was yesterday, so now we're at 99 days!
More backstory: we were supposed to take a big family trip this summer for Owen's graduation, but he couldn't decide where to go. He initially wanted to attend a World Cup game but then changed his mind when we found out all the hoops we would have to jump through to just maybe have a chance at going. Now he has decided to go on a trip with his buddies instead, so Brian and I are free to do what we want this summer!
I have previously said we would not return in the summer because of the heat, but we are very limited on when we can get away due to Owen's soccer schedule this spring/early summer and the availability of PTO time for me since my newer grad colleague has baby showers and weddings to attend most every weekend of the summer. We'll just take it slow and spend lots of time in the AC!
Can't have a report from me without kitty pics!
This is what I found in my kitchen window this morning! Both were intently watching the birds in the tree!
Owen just got back from his senior class trip to NYC. Everyone else was posting nice scenic pictures from their kids' trips on social media, and these are the types of pics Owen came back with:
Silly teenage boys!
