Something something, unprecedented demand.

On the one hand, 2pm is pretty early for entry to start on an 'evening' ticket, so that's great. Presumably that's to justify a higher price than a true evening-only ticket could fetch, but that higher price also comes with higher expectations. Based on the prices listed, it's about a 25% discount over the full-day tickets.

On the other hand, it's so much easier to get things done in the first few hours that the parks are open before the crowds arrive, that it's hard to really find value in these tickets. When thinking about an average day in the parks, far more than 25% of the things I do are before 2pm. Depending on the park and the day, it's often more than 50%; DAK's probably closer to 75-100%.

Yes, this allows entry for the nighttime shows, which a lot of people want to see and are often uncomfortably crowded anyway. But it also has guests arriving right as everybody else is having their heat-induced mid-afternoon meltdowns, followed by the daily thunderstorms, during longest queues of the day. I'm sure there are people who will find value in it, but it's not for me.

What's next -- the "After 6" ticket coming in around $110?

It wasn't all that long ago we were getting a full day for under $100, and a bargain was in the $50-60 price range.
..:you went there before I got to it…

Two thoughts:
1. On one hand…I LIKE a variety of ticket offerings…this is better than that STUPID after hours nonsense because it’s a good amount of park time
2. But…it’s another step towards block pricing that I have railed (with nobody listening) to not buy/allow for going on 20 years.
It’s a high price for what amounts to half the day…without hop. The point of this…is damage control to increase the Ave Spend per day…

And as yoda would say…”that…is why you fail…”

Disney is gonna have to offer some even deeper discounts to deal with the next several months (at least), but to their credit so far they are dealing with the global situation much more realistically then Universal.
I haven’t heard/noticed anything from them?
But supposedly the rumor is they’re to kicking around some aggressive moves

They have that…it’s gimmicky parties and “after hours”

And people dove for it, swallowed price increases, and enabled this move and more…

A reminder: I hate being right. But I stole it from some lockedout character on the disboards 20 years ago…so ya can’t blame me

Back in my day, you could go a whole day with just a nickel............ 😂

Outside of TVs nothing is as cheap as it was 10 years ago.

One of the things I loved about Tokyo Disneyland is that they offer evening tickets for around $30-$40. We snuck in on our last day in Tokyo to get another Disney dose before heading home. It was perfect. There were massive lines of people taking advantage of this ticket in the evening. If Walt Disney World wants a similar level of success with this promotion, they should further discount the tickets.

April Fools joke? where's the real discount? and, you have to book it for 2+ days? An after 2pm ticket for arrival day only might make sense, at the right price point.
If it were my company, I’d offer after-4 pm tickets for like $50 right in the hotel lobby of each on site resort. They could use their own internal capacity and wait time data to direct guests to specific parks, even. Many guests don’t plan on a park when they arrive but might jump at a simple option for an impromptu evening in a park. Disney keeps admitting guests complain about having to plan so much but they do very little to address this.

This makes sense. People are afraid of summer heat. But, as all of us who travel to WDW in the summer will attest, right around 2 pm, a cool, evening breeze sets in to chill Central Florida for a pleasant evening. Be sure to pack a sweater if you take advantage of this deal. You don’t want to catch a chill.
Definitely a high risk of frost bite if you aren't prepared for that 2PM hour in July!

I have to disagree. By 2:00 I find the parks to be unbearable until almost dark. We often joke how it only seems to get hotter the later it gets!
