These theme parks are more alike than I thought. Which do you think is best in different categories?

Knott’s has gone in so many directions it really doesn’t have a true identity.

Smuckers owns the brand for food products but discontinued all of them.

Six Flags owns the park but is selling off many parks so who knows what that means.

The coasters have been plopped down in unfortunate ways so the theming and vibe is a bit of a contradiction (compared to Herschend where they seem to blend in to the feel of the park).

But I’ve enjoyed my visits - some really fun live entertainment.

The most historic train ride in any theme park (talking about the history of the equipment and how it is painted in history lettering).

Also the only place I’ve ever gotten to ride in a real stage coach!

I know they stopped breaking it down by parks but the last time Cedar Fair did this in their earnings call Knotts came in second to only the mothership (Cedar Point) in revenue and profit. Rumors strongly hint that the old SF parks all significantly underperform the old CF parks and the big 4 (Cedar Point, Knotts Berry Farm, Kings Island, Canadas Wonderland) pretty much are the only reason the chain is still functioning. All of this is basically to state this if Six Flags ever attempts to sell Knotts (or the other three) they are pretty much selling the entire chain and leaving the theme park business. I don’t expect that to ever happen.

That would make sense to me. I don’t really get the whole Six Flags mess. :-/

If anyone had some spare time on their hands starting a non-profit “friends of historic California theme parks” with the goal of one day taking over Knotts and maybe even Disneyland would be a fun side project haha.
