Mickey Mouse Now Roaming Magic Kingdom in Surprise Character Encounters

I remember when I first visited WDW during the July 2004. I remember seeing a group of Disney Characters heading straight to an area to prepare for the Share A Dream Come True Parade. I believe my parents have a VHS recording of that moment somewhere in my house.nice to see them doing this again. years ago my wife & i were hanging out in front of of the castle & she was ambushed by chip & dale from different directions. it was so random & hilarious.
That actually used to be standard for WDW between the 70s, 80s, and mid to late 90s.This is how it should be. The spontaneous, unplanned interactions are always so fun.
One of the things that makes Disneyland superior…they never stopped doing this. That actually used to be standard for WDW between the 70s and and 90s.
I remember seeing an old photo of Fantasyland that showed Scat Cat and the Alley Cats meeting guests during the late 70s.
There was a time when WDW actually allowed Disney Characters to entertain guests before they arrived at the ticket booth. During the 1980s and 1990s, you would occasionally see either Goofy, Pinocchio, or Mr Smee Water skiing across The Seven Seas Lagoon to passengers who are either arriving or leaving to the Magic Kingdom. This was one of the biggest shocks/differences at Disneyland. Mary Poppins riding the carousel with kids, Woody wandering Frontierland, Maleficent playfully jeering guests, etc. This made the whole park feel so much more lively, welcoming, and authentically “Disney”.
But guest behavior is also very different and more chill in California. So I wonder if they can make this work in FL.
I remember seeing a video showing Alice, The Mad Hatter, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, and the Queen of Hearts riding the tea cups in Fantasyland. In the video you can faintly hear the Hatter singing "The Unbirthday Song" in the distance. It gave me the biggest smile of my face. To a similar degree, when MSEP was running at Disneyland in the late 2010s, the White Rabbit had a brief interaction with guests who were riding the tea cups. One of the things that makes Disneyland superior…they never stopped doing this.
Characters are cheap entertainment…use them
...or you could just be pleased when they do something good.…that slow, huh?
