I wonder if you can upgrade your current premier card and get the sign up bonuses. If you go to WDW or DL on a regular basis the annual fee is absolutely washed away by the $100 ticket credit and the $200 Disney Rewards Dollars after $2,000 worth of spending. We would be able to easily get our money's worth out of this card but I don't want to give up my credit history by closing our current Disney Premier Visa. The $600 sign up bonus is very tempting especially since we have a cruise coming up because we certainly will spend more than $1000 on board and that's $600 free spending money right there.

I wouldn't count on it. Sign-up bonuses are generally for new cardholders, which you wouldn't be if you upgrade from an existing card.

This is still a hard pass. And I say that as someone who still (for some reason) has a Chase Disney Premier Visa.

So, I did the math on this and it actually isn't too bad of a deal IF you subscribe to Disney+. You get a $10 credit on your statement a month for D+ which is worth $120 a year - meaning the actual delta between the two cards is $29 by the time you factor that credit into the equation. For us, because I know we are going on at least one other cruise if not two this year alone, plus our Destiny cruise we have booked next year, it makes sense for the rewards. In addition, I did qualify for the sign-up bonus as a "new" card holder so I'll just downgrade my Premier card to the no annual-fee version and keep this as my main Disney card or cancel the premier card. For us, we'll make up the $29 pretty easily in discounts, and the free $600 made it an easy decision. In fact, I already got the gift card in my apple wallet and we'll easily spend the $1,000 required over the next three months between the actual cruise and summer camp sign ups for our kids so it made a lot of sense.

I did call and they said upgrading from Premier to Inspire did not count for the sign up bonuses. It was for new applicants.

That makes sense - I applied for the new card and was instantly approved and got my gift card instantly as well so I will just downgrade or cancel my other card.

They have a calculator on the site where you can compare what points you would earn between the different cards. I’m actually pretty disappointed in the point system - it’s a pretty negligible difference. If a person visits the parks every 2 or 3 years not sure there’s a big benefit there. Especially without the new customer offer.

I've stayed away from the Disney & Universal cards since all of the benefits included are already featured with my AP... but this one is different enough?

As a local it's tempting. Not for discounts, but for the $100 annual credit since I can just use that for my AP (essentially a $100 discount on an AP) + DisneyPlus credit. So paying $129 a year, for a $100 "savings" on my AP + saving $120 on Disney Plus theoretically.

Does it make sense? I tend to spend $200 a month at WDW, so I'm inclined

I think it makes sense. I'm not a local and we only go about once every 1.5-2 years so the yearly credits won't really be useful to me....especially since I normally purchase discounted Disney GC's at Sams or BJ's Wholesale Club.

I'm getting it for the $120 Hulu credit plus the extra 5% rewards on Hulu, which will make up for the $149 annual fee, before any of the bonuses. I'm not sure it'll be worth it for me in the long term but for this first year, I think I'll come out money ahead :)

Except think about what you could earn using another card. My Sapphire Reserve Card earns me 4X for hotels and 3x for restaurants.

I assume paying DVC dues with the card wouldn't count as a resort stays. Wouldn't be able to get the $200 reward credit if you are DVC and don't go on cruises.
I believe that is correct. And if it did, they'd probably change the payment language to eliminate that as a form of payment, much like how they've cut out paying dues with gift cards.
