Disney Earns Spot on TIME's List of 250 Most Iconic American Companies
Time ranked Disney number 11.What a stupid story and I’m surprised it was even posted. Of course Disney is one of the Top 250 most iconic companies in America. I would say it’s probably top 10 or even top 5.
None of the other 10 are entertainment.I'm not a bit surprise Disney is this high and I can't argue being this high. I also can't argue against the 10 companies ahead of Disney.
Disney has an extremely rich reputation in the Entertainment business.
Nike ahead of Disney is... a choice.Time ranked Disney number 11.

America's Most Iconic Companies
TIME and Statista have named the 250 most iconic American companiestime.com
The companies ahead of Disney are the following:
- Ford Motor Company
- Apple
- The Coca Cola Company
- Walmart
- Amazon
- Mcdonald's
- General Motors
- Microsoft
- Nike
Last night I purchased and viewed a movie on Amazon.None of the other 10 are entertainment.
I'm aware of that, but Microsoft does have some characteristics of a entertainment company despite being labeled as big tech. Some of the products Microsoft has does involve entertainment, but some don't.None of the other 10 are entertainment.
I meant “primarily” entertainment. Amazon and Microsoft don’t fall into that category.I'm aware of that, but Microsoft does have some characteristics of a entertainment company despite being labeled as big tech. Some of the products Microsoft has does involve entertainment, but some don't.
Microsoft as a company has been involved gaming since the 1980s. Microsoft in the 1980s and 1990s released computer products including computer games such as Flight simulator.
Also Microsoft has been in the video industry as a game console maker since 2001. Microsoft owns companies that makes video games including Halo. Video games is a form of entertainment like it or not and Microsoft is one of the big names in that industry although I question how much longer from a sales standpoint.
I said the same thing. I can justify the other nine companies, but Nike? Nike definitely deserves a place on the list, but not above Disney, who created and owns multiple properties that are essential Americana.Nike ahead of Disney is... a choice.
It’s in the Dow 30…so kinda not worth confirmingWhat a stupid story and I’m surprised it was even posted. Of course Disney is one of the Top 250 most iconic companies in America. I would say it’s probably top 10 or even top 5.
Oracle at 13? Cisco at 16? The Children's Place (former owner of the Disney Store to boot) at 21? What even is MyFitnessPal, and how is it somehow more important to the US than ESPN, Harley, Netflix, or AT&T? Publix ranks above Tiffany and Mattel ? Somehow a regional chain of grocery stores is more iconically American than Barbie? IBM is somehow only 95? Bath & Body Works ranks above Macy's, the store so iconic in American culture there's dozens of films which feature just its flagship in NYC (not to mention the parade on Thanksgiving)? NBC ranks below Whirlpool, the washing machine people? Bleacher Report is somehow more iconic than the New York Times, Boeing, and J.C. Penney???Looked at the middle of the list and was laughing at some of the choices for where certain companies are ranked.
Probably thinking they would generate page views among people that didn't agree with their opinion - it workedOracle at 13? Cisco at 16? What was the reporters at Time smoking when they came up with the list?
Or perhaps companies paid for better spots?Probably thinking they would generate page views among people that didn't agree with their opinion - it worked
Historically yes. right now, not as much. As for the list, thinking Disney wouldn't be on the list is like saying water isn't wet.I'm not a bit surprise Disney is this high and I can't argue Disney being this high. I also can't argue against the 10 companies ahead of Disney.

That would be so much workOr perhaps companies paid for better spots?
Not anything that a PR department of a major US corporation wouldn't be willing to do, however...That would be so much work
