Here's the most forum-friendly video of it I could find. The others showed the aftermath and it isn't pretty.

Nope, first time as far as I know. This is awful. Has anything like this ever happened before @wdwmagic ?
I do wonder how the ball jumped its track in the first place.
It's why it's lasted as long as it has...huge peopleeater...I'm pretty sure I saw this happen on a video one time before but I think the video was years ago and nobody attempted to stop the ball. Didnt do anything tho.
How long now till Disney axes this show? Or will this just increase its popularity.
I'm super surprised that this old show still plays to full houses every time I attend. And you never know which section of the show isnt going to play. Its been years since Ive seen every scene or stunt in the show performed in one sitting. Something is ALWAYS missing these days.
I thought the same thing. From the video, it looks like it started out too fast from backstage.
I'd prefer it stays put, would rather this old show (which I still think is great for most guests) than an empty theater or corny replacementYikes. It’s time to get rid of this show.
An accident that has never happened since opening on May 1, 1989, until now and it's time to cancel the show. Got it.Yikes. It’s time to get rid of this show.
Nets, lots of netsWith as many shows as this performs daily since it first opened, this isnt technically a cause for concern.
BUT
The two times it has happened COULD have been prevented with either a redesigned track or setting the audience higher for safety reasons.
But also... it only takes one out of a billion showings to cause concern.
