Disney's BoardWalk Inn to Undergo Refurbishment Through 2026
This is what I was assumingIm thinking it’s to address all the empty storefronts, its the start of a new fiscal year so $$$ is flowing, also there’s really not much left for them to fix, all the rooms and other public areas have all been recently refurbished.
Were the Inn rooms refurbed? I know the DVC side was done, just can’t remember whether the Inn rooms were done first.Yeah I am confused because the rooms have been refurbed as have the public areas. This has to be something with the empty spaces.
We stayed in a refurbished Inn room in 2024.Were the Inn rooms refurbed? I know the DVC side was done, just can’t remember whether the Inn rooms were done first.
Why just one?Another bar?
Correct interior work on both sides was done 2023-2025. The new work is probably following the exterior work being done at all the rest of the hotels. (Beach and Yacht are in progress or completed).I am almost positive both the DVC and Inn rooms were recently redone to where there is no way they're getting redone again in 2026. I'm hoping this is to address the vacancies but may not be in the way we want (i.e. are they just going to gut the vacant spaces and turn them into storage or something and slap a fake facade on them to make it look nicer?). If a new tenant(s) was/ were coming it would be announced. So this worries me a bit. The art gallery was basically a closet and wouldn't suit most tenants so wouldn't be surprised if that doesn't get reused for a public facing space, but I sure hope the others do.
Sounds just right for a DVC kiosk! Or ……. an AP magnet / cupcake collection desk. The art gallery was basically a closet and wouldn't suit most tenants
How about a rethink of some of the space? With 3 convention hotels in walking distance, how about turning Atlantic Dance Hall into a World of Disney store (cos those convention people are never going to make it to Disney Springs to get the kids' gifts); Jelly Rolls becomes the Sports Bar that really is needed; Big River Grill becomes the up-market shop with the expensive handbags, jewelry and shirts; Screen Door is combined with the art gallery space to become a quick service dining location with an attached marketplace that can be accessed via the elevators off the lobby, so finally guests can get something to eat and refill their mugs without getting soaked when the daily Florida deluge happens.Sounds just right for a DVC kiosk! Honestly, this is a genius idea. How about a rethink of some of the space? And it IS a good idea because with the Skyliner, the BoardWalk is now an easily extended part of Riviera, Caribbean, Pop, Art and always an additional Yacht, Beach, BoardWalk, Swan, Dolphin, Reserve. So many Resorts are funneled into this area!Honestly, this is a genius idea.Which means it will never be considered.
