News Coral Reef Shifts to Dinner-Only Hours at EPCOT Beginning January 2026

The bigger issue is a subpar menu. I love seafood and have never been drawn in by the menu. It doesn’t help that most reviews rank it as one of the worst sit downs in EPCOT. Perhaps it would be best to rethink your menu options and food quality instead of phoning it in.

Another death cause by the dining plan

Between the drop in table service demand and EPCOT's ongoing festivals, the second- and third-tier restaurants have to be having a hard time.
Expect to see this same thing spread to many more TS…and QS locations property wide. Unprofitable services (breakfast/lunch/dinner) are being dropped.

Yet it’s still amazing that if I wanna get something to eat after 10 PM on property, I basically need to go off property.

It has always struggled…never could really figure out why?
Oh, it’s not just coral reef, there are many places on property where it’s a real head scratcher why Disney couldn’t make something work, or didn’t want to try to make something work.

For Epcot, it’s the end result of depending on festivals to fill the park. The park on its own is not a draw, as we saw this summer when there were no festivals, and that is despite them spending God knows how much money to redo the front half of the park.

It once again, comes down to accessibility. The price and the operating hours don’t match demand. There is no reason why you close the park at 9 PM while at the same time relying on income from guests eating and drinking.

The problem is, of course, the profit margin on the kiosks well exceeds any quick service or table service. So there’s no incentive to change anything.

They basically did this to themselves.

Interesting. We have a lunch reservation there coming up but it was the only option we could get for the Candlelight dining package. So presumably that reduces the number of future festival dining package seats by ~500+ (over the course of daily lunch service)? More?

Yeah…I love a 9:45 last call and nothing to eat after 11 at $750 a night hotels…

Who doesn’t love that magic?
I can’t tell you how many people myself included, get so upset when 9 PM rolls around and everything closes. You have a full park for the next hour because of luminous and there is nothing to eat or places to shop.

If they want to close the rides, that’s fine but they can’t keep a couple of restaurants or shops open till 10 or God forbid later? They have people in the park cleaning up anyway and seriously how much could a couple more security guards cost?
