I want a full, unedited except speeding up the footage, video of someone buying two mystery boxes because they really want X, X isn't in either of them, they only got things they don't like, they go back to the counter and return with two more boxes, again no X but they did get one more thing they don't want, buy two more, no X and only duplicates, buy two more, no X, two more, no X, two more, no X, two more, no X, then they cry for a bit because they spent over 250 dollars and got nothing but junk they don't want, then they go up for two more because of the sunk cost fallacy...
12 FOR $250??
What world are you living in, not Disney World for sure

I thought the little two pin boxes were somewhere in the 20 dollar range, but I don't actually buy them so maybe not.

Edit: Oh, it's general mystery boxes, not just stuff they already sell that contains random items. Yeah, WAY higher.

Going to be fun seeing how Kyle Pallo feigns excitedness at scoring an Elio LoungeFly for $39.99 and extends that into a 25 minute video while also making sure his edits don’t capture The Vlogger Formerly Known as Prince Charming Dev doing the same thing in the background.

Many awesome postings for this bottom of the barrel idea here on the site. This might be the best idea since the NBA Experience! Hard to beat that one though - it cost them tens of millions.

Here's the announcement - Disney says a virtual waitlist will be in place for entry to the location:

Get ready for the Disney Drop Shop! This exciting new retail destination will open on November 21 in Marketplace Co-Op. You'll be able to shop blind box releases, exclusive merchandise, and fan-favorite collectible brands like Cosbi, Beast Kingdom, and Popmart. A virtual waitlist will be in place for entry to the location. No discounts will apply.

I must be old. Those are horrifying

Edit: maybe it’s just the shot of all of them gathered together like that?

We have truly reached the nadir of human development, the end times are upon us
That’s my reaction too. This is so absurd. They should be discouraging this live-streaming and influencer crap, not encouraging it even further. So I guess now the co op will be unbearable to go in with obnoxious vloggers everywhere

The blind boxes are just gambling anyway, just set up a slot machine disguised as vending machine with them and call it a day.

These blind boxes print money because they are basically gambling disguised with cute little toys, pins, or whatever. Plus the sunk cost fallacy like you said.

I be so much too dumb to put brain buzzes into mouth sounds but the people who create this sort of content, and perhaps even more so those who view it, should not be allowed to vote or so much proffer an opinion on any subject ever. Again, I be so much too dumb to put brain buzzes into mouth sounds, but the social impact these vapid and banal "influencers" have on our society will one day be dispensed in tome upon tome. If there is a higher being or any sort, this is their foreshadowing of doom we are walking straight toward.

At least normal gambling has some level of skill (or interesting characteristic) about it. Even a slot machine is more visually and mentally appealing than blind boxes. Then again, I like gambling (which is seemingly odd for someone under 40).

no, no, no - this is a great idea - it's best to keep the vloggers as far away from regular people as possible. The Drop Shop aka the Vlogger Corral. Perfect. It's not in a popular store. It's far from the good restaurants at DS. This is a place that regular people maybe go on the last day of their vacation while waiting for Mear's to take them over to MCO for their flight home.

I might even suggest Disney develop some other Vlogger-confinement locations at:

Typhoon Lagoon, during the six months it's closed each year

In the shell of Big River Grille (during the day only, when the outdoor areas are dead)

And maybe something in the Carousel section of Saratoga Springs--far, far from the lobby and any pool

Sprinkle these areas with a few discontinued Funko Pop figures (maybe even the super rare Paul Pressler figure--that would be fitting here), some strange new cupcake (perhaps combining the flavors of black licorice and bubble gum, with a design themed to Mars Needs Moms), and all the USB-C outlets any influencer could ask for.

Do we know if the doors will be locked in a way to prevent the social media narcissists who go in from leaving?
They WANT the social media narcissists to buy mystery boxes and stream themselves opening it!

For Disney, the more social media narcissists, the better in this case! 😉

Disney figures, if you can’t beat them, get them to buy stuff. 😉

People do unboxing at home all the time so not sure what the big difference is, other than being able to instantly buy another on property if you didn’t get the one you wanted.

We’re losing d tech for this? And supposedly it’s closing in Tomorrowland too?
