No Rainy Day Cavalcade yesterday....just Canceled....
Years ago I know they opened those types of tapings up to cast members, but not sure if that is still the case.IDK.....Filming Wise: this was not the Sunday I was expecting
Rain canceled MOUACT, No Big Numbers/Fireworks before Starlight. I did see little rehearsals but that's it. If the Big Name Talent is After Hours, where's the Audience coming from??
Here's a look at the performers for The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular:
yeah aside from yearwood and stefani I was like huh? who? I think there was one other I knew, oh Hough of course, but the rest I was clueless.Compared to Elton John, most of these are a bit of a letdown. I had to Google who most of them were! Guess I'm getting old, and I'm not even 30... Jesus Christ.
Ms. Rexha didn't even sing that song when I saw her when she was filming on Saturday, for what it's worth, which a producer mentioned to me they had to record several times throughout the afternoon (she massacred a certain Wham! "classic" instead). So she may have more than one number, or it was cut (which I would be confused about as there was significant pyro invested). Here's more information on the performances:
Hosted by Derek Hough, “The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular” returns for its 10th year, featuring dazzling new musical performances from Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Disneyland Resort in California and Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaiʻi. Narrated by Ginnifer Goodwin (voice of Judy Hopps in “Zootopia 2”), who carries on the tradition of sharing how the Disney Parks sparkle to life for the holidays, “The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular” airs MONDAY, DEC. 1, at 8:00 p.m. EST/PST on ABC, and streams next day on Hulu and Disney+.
Performances include the following:
- Derek Hough – “We Need a Little Christmas” and “December”

Those two are around 60 years old. Disney’s going for a younger demographic. That doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t talented.*Looks at list of performers aside of Gwen Stefani and Trisha Yearwood*

I’m sure their canned, autotuned “singing” will be great.![]()
She will likely also be in the Christmas Day showMs. Rexha didn't even sing that song when I saw her when she was filming on Saturday, for what it's worth, which a producer mentioned to me they had to record several times throughout the afternoon (she massacred a certain Wham! Probably. Seems weird Disney is promoting her though, considering her fame is largely to an international audience who wouldn't watch either show normally. She will likely also be in the Christmas Day show
Didn't Nicole Scherzinger win a Tony award for best actress in a musical this year?*Looks at list of performers aside of Gwen Stefani and Trisha Yearwood*

What they really need is HUNTR/X.Mariah the Scientist has two tracks in Apple Music's Today's Hits playlist, so seems to be very current.

Should she have is probably a different topic of discussion, but she did win a Tony this year. I recognized her, Trisha, Gwen, and Derek (though I think his sister is more talented, but that's besides the point). The rest I had literally never heard of.Didn't Nicole Scherzinger win a Tony award for best actress in a musical this year?
That’s because you’re getting older and aren’t as up on artists popular today. Welcome to the club! This lineup feels kinda lackluster compared to previous years.
