October 26 Wine and Dine Half Marathon- EPCOT impacts

Hello!

What sort of impact is it likely that this event will have on EPCOT attendance on 10/26? Is it a good idea to avoid EPCOT on this day? I noticed that the park opens late that day and the runs begin and end at the park.

A few years ago (3, I think?) we inadvertently scheduled our Epcot day on the day of the half marathon. The morning and early afternoon were fine, we didn't even realize our mistake until maybe 4-5PM when WS started becoming crazy crowded. I'm assuming all the runners took their naps and then returned to bask in their wine-y glory.

Just one experience, see what others have to say as well, but I would try to avoid it. Or I guess if you're hopping, go early in the day and hop on out when it starts to get crowded.
