There's been multiple waves of food related announcements within the last like five days - these hand dipped bars, the expansion of cold foam / cold brew offerings across parks and hotels, and the announcement about 13+ fancy chicken tenders across parks and hotels too. Curious if this is a bigger push to reinvigorate some of the more basic offerings across the resort instead of one-off specialty items?

I think its an attempt to drown out the plethora of basic burger, hot dog and chicken nuggies at most quick service locations. Food Items that you cant get at the local 7-11 or MickeyD's.

Makes sense - the announcements seem flashy, but the reality of each situation is 1) give each food service the same basic tenders they always get plus one new specific sauce to coat them with and 2) generic canned/bagged/bulk cold brew plus probably (canned?) foam which again easy for distribution?

If you look beyond the announcements, these really aren't radical changes that each kitchen has to grapple with

It's the run up to price hikes.

Just wanted to provide a PSA. We are all typically hypercritical of Disney but with that being said we just got back from a weekend at Hershey Park (our third visit) and Disney park’s food is far superior over HP in value and quality.

I’m beside myself again as I type this at how bad the food offerings were and how expensive they were. There are a few standout spots but even those don’t compare to the standouts at WDW. And their basic offerings are far, FAR below WDW. I bought a cheeseburger at park opening (5pm) from a place that on busy days is out into the thoroughfare. $14.85 for just a cheeseburger, no fries, no toppings. The cheese wasn’t melted. The burger didn’t look grilled and was maybe room temperature (at park open!). The bun fell apart when I picked it up. I asked the attendant when it was made and she shrugged (also not Disney staff quality) and went about what she was doing. I took a bite. It was as bad as it looked and I decided I wasn’t going to pay for this school cafeteria burger. The manager refunded my money and my son and I got a milk shake (it’s Hershey after all so they do have the sweets eats game going on).

They have Chic-fil-a, chickies and Pete’s (a local Philly restaurant brand), and a BBQ offering that’s usually decent but for just basic grab and go it’s really bad.

My point in all this is that people continually talk about Disney being expensive but Hershey was more so and the quality was far less! I texted my wife about my experience and she sent me a screenshot of the menu at Cosmic Rays. $14 for a good cheeseburger, WITH FRIES and toppings.

The new offerings will be released at an inflated price with the plethora of food price increases already factored in. This makes the new, “tasty” additions seem more “palatable” to the average guest when they’re actually getting inferior quality Raising Cane chicken…

I cannot allow blaspheming of Raising Cane's. ;) Maybe we've gotten lucky in the dozens and dozens (and dozens) of times that we've eaten there, but their chicken quality has been very good for us. I cannot say the same for other chicken locations we've eaten at, except maybe Chicken Guy.
