I didnt book for this holiday because the discount was only 20%. It was coming up to be significantly more than last year. If they offered me this, I would have booked. Going elsewhere now.

Why is that?
I have secured a discounted rate of some sort for decades now. Rack rates are for suckers, and I am not a sucker!
It seems Pop discounts aren’t available until the All-Stars reach a high % of capacity….they “hold” the discount until they are forced to surrender

2nd week of December we are currently at LM, waiting for the Pop discounts to materialise….Pop at rack rate wasn’t available when we first booked in August, now it is, but only $15 per night less than AoA/LM….

Guess they showed how grateful one should be for even being able to secure LM in the first place…

On another note, I received call from Disney on that well known “free upgrade” from Pop to either Coronado or Port Orleans Riverside for our late September trip (yes it was a legit call)…I let them knower I’d check with DW and communicate back.

Anyhoo….for those who haven’t heard the offer, it was a no charge upgrade from Pop to either aforementioned Mod….

Rather than just dismissing, we asked if we could pay the difference in price from the current published lower priced Coronado and AKL….the published difference was $112 or so, and Disney declined our generous counter offer….

Pleasant chat with the CM, and we expected them to say no, but gave it a shot

You heard it here folks, people saying something when Disney raises, lowers, or keeps prices as is! It’s a Catch 22!
Discounts are more generous this year than the same time last year, and that occurred in a Q1 that had lower attendance from the previous year.

But go ahead and keep sneering that he’s unnecessarily alarmist.

What would be the cause for alarm?

Disney is too expensive so it seems discounts would be the logical way to alleviate that.
