What's the point of paying the extra premium to stay at a Disneyland resort now? One Lightning Lane pass for your entire stay sure isn't it! I would have expected at least 1 Lightning Lane per guest per day. Easier access into DCA through the Grand Californian? Eh, maybe a few extra dollars but not hundreds of dollars.

Disney just continues to raise costs while cutting quality and value.

Yes I think one per day would have been a better received replacement.

anything certainly is possible over time ... just thinking that they added characters to the early entry time as part of Cool Kid Summer and think the response to that has been positive ... so I think, at least currently, Early Entry is valued at WDW, at least more than at DLR

But it also has adjusted over time at WDW, so I am sure they will continue to monitor it

This is idiotic! Why stay at a Disney Hotel now? They will be losing more money than they save on costs for those extra 30 minutes
For Disneyland, this makes total sense.

There's a total of three hotels. All three are super expensive. People staying there are staying there in part for the hotels. If you're getting up and doing park time, you're probably staying off site because you can walk from an off-site hotel.

The DL LLs also work differently. They work more like digital FPs. You enter and select your first one. You get another after you use your first one or two hours later, whichever is first. I like this better than WDW's system of three attractions and tiers because I got more LLs per day. And having a guaranteed LL for an attraction where they tend to run out like Indy or Guardians would be the best perk.

Now, I think as expensive as those hotels are, the best perk would be if they did like Uni does and give LL access to hotel guests there. Huge incentive to stay there.

For WDW, I agree with the article that I can't see them doing away with it, and I like the current system with early entry for all resort guests and Extended hours for Deluxe Resorts.

They likely won't lose anything. Disneyland Resort hotels are a very scarce commodity compared to WDW and they don't need major incentives to fill them.

This will be a good chance for a lot of people because it represents you can save a good chunk of time on just one attraction and gain the flexibility of not having to get up super early to access the perk.

Definitely more than at DLR. You're getting more guests who are routine guests, not the once in a lifetime guests packing in every minute.

Parks are also open later. If you were on Space Mountain at midnight, chances are you're not in line at 7:30 the next morning. Unless you can function on no sleep. I cannot. 🙃
