Updated Thanksgiving Week Strategy

Coming back with additional questions as I update our Thanksgiving week strategy!

Background: We are staying at DW resort week of Tgiving; Saturday-Saturday. Dates firm due to an event. Will not start visiting parks until that Monday. Thinking Park Park Rest Park Park. Myself, husband, and 13 yo daughter who has never been to Disney.

After several days of stress-reading blogs regarding LL strategies and becoming concerned at the amt of time I'll be on my phone and us having to run all over the parks, I started considering the LL Premier Pass for a Monday MK visit. However, after researching the LL Premier a bit more, I think there is a real chance it could sell out prior to our window opening for purchase. Also, after considering that, I realized that the cost of tickets for the Mickey Christmas AND Jollywood would likely be the same amt as just doing MK LL Premier.

So NOW I am thinking about hitting up HWS and MK on party days. We would not do LL Premier, but would do LL Single/Multi. I don't think I would have to be as panicked or aggressive with strategy as we would have the extended party time at the end of the day and less crowds, so the chance of getting on something we missed would be greater. Or if we were still able to ride everything, we would have time to relax and take in the rest of the park without being heads down over phone. The bonus is my 13 yo LOVES Christmas, like more than most normal humans.

Considering that strategy, I would think that early entry/rope dropping would not be a necessity either of those days. Neither child or husband are going to be very magical on these early mornings anyway. Would it be fair to assume that we could arrive to the park late mornings if also doing the parties? We could plan to save our early am energy for AK and Epcot.

Basically I think it would look like this:

Monday: HWS + Jollywood (start late morning)
Tuesday: MK + Mickey's Christmas (start late morning)
Wednesday: Rest; Water Park weather permitting
Thursday (Thanksgiving): Epcot (early entry)
Friday: Animal Kingdom (early entry) - putting AK as the last day so we have time to pack and rest before driving home the next day

Thoughts??? Is this a crazy idea?

Yes. Going to the party events and entering the parks a bit later will give you time to enjoy it all. Crowds are slightly less crowded than normal days at the parks. Christmas season at WDW is fantastic and if your daughter loves the season then she will love how everything is decorated and the atmosphere all over property.
We've never been on Thanksgiving day but friends of ours go as a family tradition every year and they say early morning is usually OK but crowds explode as the day goes on.
Personally I skip water parks because I don't see it as a value to my vacation time, I'd rather go AK then.
And we always do MK as our last day park before leaving for home. If your daughter is Christmas crazy and has never been to WDW before, I'd give her more MK time in the trip.
Have a blast. Christmas decked out at WDW is the very best of time!!!
