I think it's kind of lame to give the option of buying out the park at night during Holiday Season. My group is going from 9/28-10/4, and out of the 6 nights there are only 2 that aren't MNSSHP. The idea of closing early on one of those already limited nights feels bad. I normally don't complain about buy-outs, but it's not cool during party season.

Historically, this event has been at EPCOT. Your concern is certainly a valid one, but at the end of the day, this is the largest convention they host every year, and if the organizers wanted MK, they were going to get it. It was just a matter of the right price.

Yep - and if they felt they needed something to drive up attendance buying out MK makes it difference. Plus Gartner registration fees are well into the four figures so they have the revenue.
