Worried about new coaster rides

I am looking for some insight regarding the new rides at WDW. I love Flight of Passage and could ride it all day. I also love Big Thunder Mountain and Soarin. I have a little trouble in Animal Kingdom with the backward part of Expedition Everest but love the rest of it. cannot handle the more difficult ride at Mission Space. I would love to try all the new rides at WDW this fall but in looking at the descriptions many of them are described at spinning or 3 D. I do love all the Harry Potter rides and have no trouble with the screens, including Hagar's ride. But I really don't want to get on a ride and then get motion sickness from the spinning. Knowing all of the above, what new rides would you say I would have trouble riding this fall? Please help - I don't want to pass on a ride that maybe I would really love! Thank you!

Based on what you’ve said, I think you’d be fine to try anything at WDW. Cosmic Rewind has some backwards/spinning, but not as intense as Everest.

I can’t speak to the new stuff at Universal’s Epic. (Not sure if you were asking about that, but since you mentioned Harry Potter, thought I’d clarify)

Cosmic Rewind (and on occasion Ratatouille!) can trigger it, but I agree TRON is unlikely to present any issue: you move fast but it's all straight ahead, and for better or worse it's over before you know it.

Personally I find HP Forbidden Journey is the worst in Orlando for motion sickness, so if you say you can handle that, nothing at WDW (barring Mission: Space which no one rides anyway) should be a problem. I'd say try anything once and find out the hard way! If it results in a wardrobe malfunction, you can just spring for the souvenir T-shirt afterwards, lol.

You might be right, but I think it’s worth a try. Like the OP, I don’t really like the backward part of Everest (anymore) and I will probably never ride the intense version of Mission Space again. But guardians is my new favorite!
I never have gotten any kind
Of motion sickness or any sort on any of the record setting or hurlamatic…

The list is quite impressive:
Magnum, millennium, top thrill, kingda la

And the headbangers balls:
Steel phantom, great American scream machine, Batman and Robin the chiller, mean steak

Etc etc etc…

And when people are chucking on cruise ships:..I stroll and sip latte…

But I gotta say guardians really messes with the equilibrium. I don’t think it’s anyone thing…just the ingredients to the “soup” as a whole…
I am older…so maybe I’m overstating this…but I have chops.

If you are mixed up on Everest…which is “minor”…guardians might have you bent over the bushes out side

Just saying

Agreed - Forbidden Journey is the worst for me. Mission Space never bothered me at all.

Guardians is slightly disorienting for me. Like I’m fine once… but if the CM said “want to ride again” pretty sure i should say no. (Notice I said should….. I’d probably say yes! Haha).

Guardians is extremely smooth - so that helps alot.

I think it’s probably the G forces more than the going backward. It doesn’t make me sick, just not my favorite part. Likewise for Mission Space…I rode it in April. Didn’t get sick, but just didn’t find it enjoyable either.

I agree! It’s so smooth and I think it helps that I tend to look in the direction we’re moving (toward the upcoming track) as much as possible. I also agree that if the OP can handle Forbidden Journey, they’ll be fine on Guardians.

My initial description of Guardians to my wife after my oldest son and I rode it was :"Guardians proves that Mickey doesn't have to turn you upside down to turn you inside out."

And I have no trouble with Mission:Space Orange or Everest or even Rockin Roller Coaster or Tower of Terror. If the backwards part of Everest bothers you, you should definitely avoid Guardians.
