DHS Disney Animation-Inspired Experience Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

To be fair I don’t think animation courtyard was the highest priority until after galaxies edge and Toy Story land opened when it came down to it or muppet vision.
Animation Courtyard has been a vestigial dead zone since the animators left in 2004. Heck, you could make a strong argument that it’s been floundering since the entrance to the tram tour moved almost a decade earlier. The area is incredibly prominent, just off the hub of the park, and has been the section of the Studios most in need of redevelopment for at least 20 years.

To be fair I am pretty sure they don't want to highlight that animated films were actually once made there. That would be acknowledging that this park once had a purpose other than being a sad shadow of what it used to be.
Same for Epcot. And we're seeing it happen to Animal Kingdom in real time.

Acknowledging the history of HS's past purpose is much more rare than Disney letting go of Epcot's past purpose, tho. That would be quite an unusual direction in terms of Disney's historical trends. MGM Studios is one they are trying to completely wipe away from existence it seems.

I love Mulan getting a more permanent presence in the parks, she's rather inconsistent in EPCOT. However, if they're adding a bunch of Meet and Greets, I'm hoping for new characters. I'll even take 3 recycled princesses if it means we can meet Hercules.

I din't know ( or care) about meeting Hercules, but we do actually have a park that has a huge area themed to different countries... Why not give Mulan an actual attraction...not a meet and greet by itself... but a real honest to goodness attraction....themed to a character and story that takes place in China....in the China pavilion...... Imagine! Thematic continuity! Then how about Coco...Maybe a real attraction in Italy, Japan, Germany, The UK ....I would have much rather seen them add all of these attractions to World Showcase than add Cars to Frontierland....

Here's a look at a new casting notice for the Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! show - potential rehearsals begin in early April 2026:

My Guess is Mickey & Minnie will be returning to the Animation building for M&G's since they are prominent in the poster and it's not like he's also in the Disney Jr show that would return anyways..

Which then they can do whatever they want with their old American Idol area..
Strange building for sure, I wonder what will happen to it

It just popped up in my head... Why not move the One Man's Dream exhibit and film to this location alongside all the art of animation stuff? Seems like it would fit perfectly here. Then they can use the one mans dream space for something else
They'll justify keeping it where it is because its "close enough"

So Rapunzel’s spot is supposed to be a multiplane camera right? Wouldn’t it be better to have a character from a movie filmed with a multiplane camera?

I think one of the shots of her tower is supposed to look like it was made with it since that movie started out with a watercolor look and models a lot of its visuals on older Disney movies.

That's probably the justification, but I agree, including one that actually used it rather than homaged it would be better.

Having a bunch of princess meet n greets is a big win for young children to this park. As is, DHS offers the least amount of really kid friendly attractions.

I also look forward to the alice in wonderland maze area.

Regardless this is a MASSIVE improvement from what i thought was a terrible star wars area in a park with 2 other better star wars areas lol

Except the princesses replace Star Wars characters that were in Launch Bay.

So princesses in both MK and DHS. Seems skewed in favour of the girls to me.

This is where the Marvel rules really hinder Disney at WDW imo.

Eh boys already have Star Wars characters in GE (aren't they also moving Darth Vader and Chewy to other areas), they have Toy Story characters, and they are going to have Monsters characters on top of seeing Indiana Jones. This is the one park I don't have a problem adding some more girl-centric stuff. Remember, they are losing the Disney Junior characters too.

Man if only there was a place to see Star Wars characters in Disney's Hollywood Studios... oh well.

Last month, I was walking thru SWL getting near a First Order 'show' by the TIE fighter and, suddenly, there's Vi, watching it from around the corner. I approached her and said, "Don't worry, Vi, I'll go a make a distraction."

And she thanked me.

Probably for being the only guest who knew her thing.
