Hmm. APs are down, parks are light, I wonder why?

Maybe as a former APer the fact that I have to pay extra for LL or

play the lottery with VQ or

eat the overpriced, smaller portion food,

or they keep ripping out instead of updating classics or

they even let their new rides fall apart within weeks of opening or

Most of what they make now is screen based with a single AA or character spaced out between voids of nothing (parade, fireworks, Tiana, Villians show….

It is as if they don’t want to give anyone a complete experience. So annoying and so sad.

I mean, tourism is hurting all across the country.

However tourism is hurting at WDW more than it is elsewhere.
For the US, domestic tourism is estimated to be up 3% YOY. International Tourism is down on average 6% YOY. This is hardly a collapse.

Central Florida has seen an increase in visitors YOY, primarily due EU. Problem seems to be a more specific issue of visitors passing on WDW.

Another lever - but everything is fine 👀

Except when they need APs…
you know it’s not

Not much of a discount though. I doubt this will attract anyone new to purchase who wasn’t already, so what’s next
For a family of 4, it could be up to $400, or $300 using gold passes.

I thought for sure they would have eliminated the Park Pass nonsense as a first step. But I guess they're really committed to failure.

This is an extremely lagging indicator based on the way the data is collected. Talk to me again in a few months. Meanwhile, places like WDW are using current ticket sales and future bookings.

That said, yes, WDW is doing much worse than other places. That is part of a longer term trend since the end of the Covid travel boom and is almost certainly a problem of WDW’s own making. When you strip-mine the parks segment dry to prop up the rest of your company there are going to be consequences.

The real question is going to be whether they have the hubris to try to pull the trigger and do their annual AP price increases this fall.

That’s true it does add up a little if you are buying several.

The park passes needed to go big time. It’s beyond ridiculous at this point.

So what are all the new things coming within the next year? 🤔

Or at least switch is so the default is a "good to go day". I get wanting to use reservations for like opening day of Starlight or for July 4th, NYE, etc ... But should be the exception

The extreme simple math here is $100 is one less day to go when factoring how many days “to break even”…..

It takes 10-13 days now to approach the tipping point with respect to only gate taps….

Living less than 8 hrs away, its still 4 trips a year to feel any kinda good way about the AP value. Even adding the room discounts it would still take 3 trips of 4-5 days.....
