The increase in the number of extreme heat events over the past few years in Orlando is one of the reasons Summer is now basically low season.
It the old days September was our choice because the summer was always the crowded time.

Folks want to blame it on the heat, but it seems to me over time visitors have learned to visit during the less crowded times and avoid the more crowded times, therefore the sumner which used to be the crowded time has evolved into a less crowded time.

The same evolution has happened to various holiday weekends, in the old days mobbed, now have evolved into less crowded times at WDW because folks have learned.

Just my opinion.

Last few days at the World have been brutal.
I haven't even stepped out of my house to watch the fireworks in my backyard, because I get to opening the door into my garage and realize it's too bloody hot to sit outside for 20 minutes. It was insane how hot it was back when I went to MK for Starlight's premier almost 2 weeks ago - and I didn't leave the house until 5:30! Most guests don't have that luxury!

How Disney doesn't have a line of guests outside of every first aid station collapsing from heat stroke I don't know.

Who is buying bottled water? Any quick service restaurant will give you a cup of ice water.

Having heat warnings make sense. Many people aren't prepared for the combination of heat and exertion at WDW and the impact it has compared to everyday life.
And it is filtered water. Absolutely no reason to buy bottled water at WDW although they don't exactly advertise that you can fill a cup with water for free.

It’s the heat waves that have been coming more consistently that have people changing their plans.

You used to get a day or two that were unbearable. Now the excessive heat can ruin the entire trip.

I suspect people are staring to figure this out.
On the flip side, January weather can ruin your whole trip as well. Raining and in the 30s low 40s 4 days straight on my trip this year...wasnt worth paying for AKL I can tell you!

If they actually need medical attention then first aid goes wherever they happen to be when it gets that bad. If they're not at that point yet they're more likely to just head into the air conditioning and get water.

We experienced mid-to-upper 40's and light rain all day last January on the one full day we had for the parks. Quite possibly the most miserable weather I've had at a Disney theme park, and may have outdone the day in February 198...5... I think... where it was 49F with 20-25mph winds when we were at EPCOT Center. You don't know how bad the wind tunnel under SSE is until you've experienced it with 25mph winds and an air temp below 50F. 🥶 I've also experienced the heat and humidity of the summer months in the parks over my many years of visits. You can prepare for and deal with the heat, but the cold... they aren't quite as equipped for that.

It’s nice that both water parks are open.

Anything under 60 in Florida sucks…cause it’s the ONLY time the wind kicks up

Luckily few and far between
