They played it at wdwMemory is playing tricks on me - did they never play the arrival announcements like they do at Disneyland? “Your attention please…. Now arriving from a grand circle tour….”

I thought so! It’s sad to not hear it. Especially since I love waiting in the waiting room at WDW!They played it at wdw
I was there on June 8th, we heard Peter and Wendy between Frontierland and FantasylandNot in the version used until yesterday (post-TRON opening), but Peter Pan and Tinkerbell were used in the audio track between Frontierland and Fantasyland.
It wasn’t very consistent though. There were several times when I’d be waiting for a train at Main Street and it wouldn’t play when it was arriving. Come back again later in the day and it would. Come back a 3rd time and then it wouldn’t etc.I thought so! It’s sad to not hear it. Especially since I love waiting in the waiting room at WDW!
Give a few options for each land and it’d be great! Each ride you’d get something new and you can use that to add more fan-favorites rather than only the most popular charactersI think a randomized, rotating cast would be adorable. Maybe one to represent each part of the park?
Stitch for Tomorrowland, Louis for Frontierland, Pooh or a princess for Fantasyland, one of the Tiki Birds or a pirate for Adventureland (no IPs in Adventureland really huh?), Mickey for Main Street USA....
I think it's a cute way to add flavor.
Could take some inspiration from Marc Davis’ railroad vignettes he designed that were never built- some comedic scenes outside Jungle Cruise featuring animals, a UFO outside Tomorrowland that would rise up and down, Alice having a Tea Party outside Fantasyland, etc. Since the concepts were for Disneyland, he also had a cave portion idea for entering Bear Country where you’d see some bears hibernating in the caves. I don’t have my copy on me (currently away from home) but if I did/when I do I’ll post pictures! The concepts are so cool and makes me wish the railroad was full of things to look atIt would be really nice if during these next 5 years of construction, they add scenery to the actual train route... I mean something really worth seeing that reflects each land... not a barrel here and there to represent Adventureland...lol but real honest show scenes... Allow the train to tell a full story...not just transportation to Tiana's Foods Factory...
Live action Stitch looks slightly more “bred to be cuter but has breathing issues now”, but they are pretty dang close lolThey're basically the same character design-wise.
I’d prefer character free too, but if we’re gonna get characters, might as well do something cool and have a large roster that randomizes so it’s different each ride. Would incentivize people to ride it more!Ideally the train ride would be character free. The new conductor is bad enough.
And yes I know…. My first visit ever Pocahontas was singing about the wind. Nothing new. But the whole thing has gotten more and more cartoonish. The stich thing belongs at a pre-school.
True, but it's another great cut detail there was just no reason to end it all together. Everything now has to be as minimal and bland as possible. For some reason management does not want the parks to have anything to do with Disney World in a sense, if that makes sense. It wasn’t very consistent though. Yes, it’s not being used during the temporary shuttle service, which makes sense because the audio does say “trip around the Magic Kingdom”, but will return when the full loops do. I just hope that when it does return, it’s played every time a train is arriving at Main Street, like DL, not whenever it feels like it lol.True, but it's another great cut detail there was just no reason to end it all together. It wasn’t playing before the shuttle service began either.Yes, it’s not being used during the temporary shuttle service, which makes sense because the audio does say “trip around the Magic Kingdom”
I heard it a few times once the WDWRR returned in 2022, but it was still spotty, just like it was pre-tron construction closure. It wasn’t playing before the shuttle service began either.
Disney doesn’t…. But there’s always a foamer that shouts it out! HahaDoes DL still announce what specific locomotive is arriving at Main Street? I know that was thing with Ripley a long time ago.
I definitely heard it in March. We did 3 round trips on the train throughout our day at MK.It wasn’t playing before the shuttle service began either.
maybe it’s just very inconsistent- or maybe the cast turns it off or forgets to turn it on?I definitely heard it in March. We did 3 round trips on the train throughout our day at MK.
That’s a shame. It was a unique touch that couldn’t be found at any other castle park railroad.Disney doesn’t…. But there’s always a foamer that shouts it out! Haha
It is/was. I’m sure it’s something as simple as pushing a button once the approaching a station whistle is heard or once they get notified via the block system. Depending on how many CMs are working Main Street station and the number of people waiting, I’m sure it’d be easy to get overwhelmed and forget about it…………..or pure laziness. Both are realistic possibilities lol.maybe it’s just very inconsistent
Not arguing that one bit. The consistently rudest CMs I’ve encountered at WDW have been MK security, MK ticket scanner/gate greeters, and, unfortunately, WDWRR cast. The WDW railroad cast is pretty lacking unfortunately. They seem to enjoy shouting at guests more than making sure they have a good time.
There are some exceptions of course - but I was pretty unimpressed with most of them. The DL railroad cast is sooooo great. Even the “all aboard”‘a are better out in Cali! Haha
Sadly agree with security and WDW railroad. Not arguing that one bit. The consistently rudest CMs I’ve encountered at WDW have been MK security, MK ticket scanner/gate greeters, and, unfortunately, WDWRR cast.
