Anyone remember the 1998 Tower of Terror accident that sent seven people to hospital?

Me neither until I saw this courtesy of Theme Park Crazy on YouTube.

Turns out the cable snapped completely and the emergency braking system kicked into action averting any major damage or injuries. The seven people were taken to hospital after complaining about neck and back pain but non of them were kept in overnight. As the video explains it wasn't that widely publicised probably due to no serious injuries however I'm surprised that this is the first time I've heard about this incident. Anyone else on here remember this?

They had seven ambulance chasers in one car?
The incident as described returns an error in my memory bank but that was a tough time in my life

These kind of videos usually have sketchy sources and are way overblown. Probably a lot like this "incident."

Well they showed the incident report by Disney in that video and here's the media reporting it where they quote Disney's reporting of it so I think it's safe to say the sources aren't sketchy in this case. I would imagine the 7 people that went to hospital weren't at death's door though

If you do a search online there will be a few different reports from different sources of it occurring and why it happened so there's nothing sketchy about it. Because thankfully no one died or was seriously injured it never was blasted all over the media. But Disney does a good job of making sure things don't get out and of course in 1998 only about 40% of the public was relying on accessing the news online.
