Magic Kingdom Starlight Parade Brings New Annual Passholder Park Reservation Rule

If you start at Frontierland, guests who want to leave the park afterwards will have to wait behind the parade as it crawls through MK.

If you start the parade at Main Street, as the parade moves north on MS, guests will fill in behind the parade as they line up for the fireworks after.

It Works for FOF too...

Party Parades didn't move to Splash till the 2000s l believe

Who really knows how MK determines Direction....

The problem with TBA Starts is you have the whole Parade Route(if Guests follow) landing at the Exits... When Parades start at City Hall, the exits are much nicer and fewer people.

Ok thanks. I wasn’t understanding why a night parade would be particularly different than a day parade, but the people leaving the park for the evening makes sense.

Isn't it possible they could start the parade in one location and then the other location for the second showing? They've done that before.

I think it depends how certain you want to be about being in MK. To be certain, make an MK reservation. If you are OK to accept the possibility of MK not allowing hopping on that day due to capacity, then stay with DHS.
I think I know the answer to this but want to confirm (because it’s so illogical). I’m an AP holder and have a MK reservation for opening night and am staying on property.

If I want to use MPLL at HS during the day, tough luck right? Or tap into MK and then go to HS? And eventually back to MK.

But yet my non AP neighbor also traveling across the country can freely use MPLL at HS and hop on over to MK with no problems.

Accurate?

To answer the first question, you would need to tap into MK first to be able to use MPLL at DHS that day.

Hopping to MK will depend on capacity, but with an MK reservation you should be allowed in - it would be exceptionally rare for you to be refused.

Your non-AP neighbour could be out of luck though. And personally I think they would be on that opening night unless they hop early.

Random question…. If reservations are available (as they pretty much always are) - why doesn’t the system automatically assign you a reservation and let you in?

I never know which park I’m gonna end up starting with and have forgotten a couple times only to get the blue light special! Haha.

I just step back and make the reservation, not a big deal, but was just thinking they could make it easier.

what they should do is ditch it all together except for during peak and holiday times. its ridiculous. I have a magic kingdom park reserve for mk that day, but I cant get in there till 5 or 6 due to room check in and things,,,are they still going to allow me in if it hits capacity?

Agreed. If they want to limit attendance allow “reservations” to guarantee but otherwise you can just show up provided there is space.

Like why wouldn’t they do that?

Also… just curious, can the ticket booths make reservations for those who don’t have a smart phone? I’m assuming they can? Was just curious on that.

doesn't seem like it, I had a friend who wanted to go with me awhile back and just wanted to buy a one day ticket at the window and go in,,I called about it before hand and they said nope, they have to have a reservation. Its really horrible, cant even bring a friend anymore. Disney actually turns away business now outright.

Confused…, maybe reading wrong, why would a person buying a dated ticket need a reservation? You (AP holder) would need a reservation, which yes we all agree silly.

Well it seems like DAK and Epcot are taking the hit from this. As of a little before 3PM the wait times are quite low there.

DHS is around normal. MK is above slightly above normal wait times.
