Maybe I'm just being bull headed but I am just not going to do this. I just can't spend that extra money. Not that I can't afford it but I can get along just fine without it. We always use early entry and get to ride the attractions we want to without too much of a wait. If later in the day we want to stand in a line, we look at the posted wait times and decide if it is worth it. Sometimes we do it and sometimes we don't. Besides the queue lines can keep you entertained if you just look around.

Besides I always get the park hopper option. If I had to book lightning lanes and some end up later in the day then that makes PH obsolete. Right? Or am I wrong about that?

Historically, no matter what system is in place, early entry is the best strategy 👍

I think dropping the park hopper to help subsidize your LL purchases makes sense. I'm not sure about obsolete, but sticking to one park per day isn't much hardship, and you can pick up LLs for any timeslot as you say. Less planning required.

AK is not an all day park in fact for us HS isn't either. We always get PH and enjoy it.

I just got back from DLR for the first time. For obvious reasons, I didn't purchase park hopper. But I did purchase one park per day with Multipass and made use of it a lot. I wanted to experience DLP and DCA separately. In fact, I built in a two hour break on my first day in DLP. So, I think dropping park hopper is a good strategy. Just do one park each day, no matter which it is. If you find you have extra time, leave the park and take a break. Take a nap, swim in the pool, get lunch, etc. Come back for evening activities such as dinner and fireworks.

It depends on if you build in animal walks and shows. If so, you'll leave later. Regardless it closes at 6pm anyway because of the animals. So yeah, HS is a great choice to hop to. Easier for passholders to make that choice though than for ticket holders. For them, I'd recommend not purchasing PH and make up the cost with LLMP and LLSP.

You can book LLs in any park after you tap into your first one... so Morning LLs in AK, afternoon/evening at EPCOT for example
