Without the demos, tastings, and special meals it really seems like the festival is a shell of its former self. I still enjoy it but miss what used to be. I recognize that the majority of visitors probably have no idea what they're missing but I always had the impression that these special events were popular (they seemed to sell out). Anyone have insight as to why they halted the special events? I thought the lack of a festival center was a hang up for a long time and was hopeful when they went out of their way to say the kitchen in Communicore Hall is outfitted with cameras, but we've seen nothing.
We did the tequila lunch one year as well and still talk about it. Absolutely delicious and so much fun. Of any of the events, that's one I could possibly see coming back (assuming it's up to the restaurant group) since they've continued to do the tastings. Although I know there aren't big profit margins in the food, the $ is in the alcohol so perhaps they're satisfied just sticking to that. I'm pretty sure I remember La Cava posting a non-committal "you never know" or something like that to a question about the lunches last year.We used to plan our trips around F&WF and it was largely for the demonstrations and author signings and special lunches, etc.
Did a tequila pairing lunch at La Hacienda de San Angel and it might be the best meal I have had at Disney.
Never did a Party for the Senses but know they were very popular too
No idea why they don't have them - assume just easier to not do them and feel they aren't needed to make sufficient $
Between the hotels, park fees, food, and special events we easily dropped $3K on the real Food and Wine. We have gone to the current fake version three times...but no more. We won't attend until the real thing returns. It will save us a lot of money.
Same.We will go if we happen to be there while it is going on .... But we used to plan out trips around it and doing the cooking demonstration and special lunches, etc
Bowling for soup? Yes! I know what day I’m going. Here's who will be performing at the Eat to the Beat Concert Series:

Mike Love (original) and Bruce Johnston (since 1965). John Stamos claims third longest association withe band (he's played with them for 40 years), but has never technically been an official member. (He will almost certainly show up for this performance -man is Disney obsessed.)Who is even left from The Beach Boys?
