News Disney Skyliner closing for a brief refurbishment in January 2026

From January 25, 2026, through January 31, 2026, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available.

I wish they'd rotate the maintenance schedule because it's almost always this same week in January each year which I guess is both good and bad. Good because I guess you can somewhat plan around it. Bad because if that week is a special time of year for folks then they'd pretty much never be able to spend that time at Riv with a working Skyliner.

The Riviera is definitely the low point when it comes to resort theme and attention to detail. The new Ft. Wilderness cabins are a worse concept to be sure - but it’s so bad I don’t even count it.

I thought they fed what wasn't turned to ash by the incinerating heat inside the gondolas to the gators every night?

The transportation, food and rooms are all worthwhile

This would be the case if WDW was located Phoenix as is is a dry heat. However, the humidity simply causes corpses to smolder leaving a bit of residue.
