I had a quick look back at historical discount rates.

I can't find any post-2020 discount for All-Star Sports that's at least 45% off rack rate, or that covers the entire month of July:
  • Was 20% off with no min stay in 2023, but only for July 11 onward
  • Was 15% off with no min stay in 2022 but excluded first week of July
Is this the steepest discount we've seen in a decade?

Without doing a deep data dive with your extensive resources…
I’m just gonna take a guess that the last (if ever?) that adjust for inflation discounts have been this big would be 2010.

Just a guess

And why is that so? …for the kids in the back of the class

They must really be worried about this summer to offer rates that low
Not really if it's only for six resorts with specific room options.

That tells me the other resorts and room options are selling as well as they'd like them to be.

For example, the only Value Resort on the list is Sports, which is usually the least popular Value Resort, except for when a youth sports event is in town.

When we were at Wilderness Lodge last month, they bumped us up to the Yosemite Suite because they were doing remodeling work on a number of rooms on our floor. Was pretty awesome!!!

We know summers used to be the busy time. Over time folks were trained to stay away during the busy times and those former busy times became less busy times.

Just like my beloved September used be a very un busy time is now busy.

This plus EPIC makes them do this, and yes there will be folks who sign up for Disney + to get the discount and that will give Disney a little boost in their subs even if these folks eventually cancel anyway.

Well it still felt mobbed to me, maybe because of the failed LL system; folks just walking around...
Nope…it’s because “mobbed” is becoming a chicken little proclamations that are not supported by attendance figures and trends (reportedly)

Those parks were built to handle substantially more people…its operations failures and intentional crowding tactics that may make them feel more “mobbed” than they are mathematically…

But it’s silly to keep falling for it to pump Disneys tires.

Things aren’t exceptionally good…at all…on I-4…as evidenced by all the evidence available

Mission accomplished Disney!

Although I have no idea why they would do this intentionally.

In any event, WDW still feels MOBBED very crowded to me in recent visits. Lets see what happens in the future.

Although I have no idea why they would do this intentionally.

There are 2 types of people:
1. Those that know why
2. Those that know why but won’t admit it or act clueless about it because they can’t bring themselves to admit their favorite company has been actively trying to screw them for 20 years. 100% deliberate and on a twisted “plan”

Acceptance is always the hard part

Tis not…
