When any Disney parks thread becomes a Disney v. Universal discussion, then that thread is off-topic. However, here's a thread where such discussions can be move to since they are on topic here. Enjoy!!

I don't think Comcast has any intention of really of becoming a top tier streaming player...

Comcast was a full year behind Disney in getting their streaming up and running.

Then they lost their slice of the Hulu pie.

Then they got caught up in what all the streamers were doing (D+, Neflix, et al.) in creating too much content in order to 'win' the 'streaming wars.' It wound up being very costly for all and they then all pulled back.

I believe Comcast is serious in wanting Peacock to be profitable. It's losing less money each quarter than the quarter before. It might even reach break even within a year.

But just like Disney's all-in on streaming choked off investments in the parks for half a decade, Peacock and cord cutting is hurting Comcast badly.

That's why when Uni and parks fans talk about future growth for EU and the other Uni parks, I'm just shaking my head. I don't believe Comcast has the free cash to make that happen. They're $100B in debt (twice Disney's debt). And their stock is also tanking. Wall Street isn't impressed by EU, just like it wasn't impressed with Disney's claim that they'll be investing $60B in parks and cruises.

Posting this in the correct thread...

Again, you and others need to knock this off.

Iger doesn't want to cancel the announced expansions. He told shareholders that investing in the parks will provide the highest ROI for the company at this time.

He wants and plans to spend that $60B globally and $17B in WDW in order to make more money than what is spent.

Thinking the Iger is looking for an excuse to not spend the money is just self-delusion based on your own pervasive anger.

Thinking that he's happy there might be another Great Recession in order to cut costs forgets that that means less profit overall for the company.

If anything it cut or delayed because of these "economic headwinds," it's done reluctantly.

What about “they’re not bound to anything” Don’t you grasp?

You need an intervention

Been watching what’s going on with the financials lately?

Agreed, but do we honestly think 2025 Disney would build an entire new park as fast as Universal?

Everything right now is going to get compared to Epic in some way. Disney chose not to compete and seemed to concede the media attention. Whatever happens at TT will obviously pale in comparison.
Taking this to the correct thread.Everything Disney has been doing has been unfairly compared to epic universe for 4 years straight with no signs of stopping.

Only took him 20 years to come around
