According to blog Mickey it looks they are testing bringing this back. Currently testing at Pop.

Gotta make sure everyone pays those baggage fees! And only for Southwest
But I feel this may expand to other airlines. And only for Southwest
I don’t think Southwest charges for luggage.Gotta make sure everyone pays those baggage fees!
They do now - starting May 28.I don’t think Southwest charges for luggage.
Wow! I had no idea. That’s a shame. They do now.
I'm sure everyone at Pop is asking the same thing!I wonder why they would choose Pop and only SW?
I wonder why they would choose Pop and only SW?
Largest WDW resort & Southwest has MCO's largest passenger volumeI wonder why they would choose Pop and only SW?
Definitely not the reasonits likely less valuable baggage than other resorts in case it gets lost
That would be great. It was really nice when my kids were little and one of the things that sold us on on-site Disney trips. The difference between walking straight to the bus and having the bags arrive a few hours later vs. going to get all the bags and renting a car was pretty stark. And the return trip was maybe even easier.I think there's significant hope for Disney's Magical Express to make a return.
As I understand it, Bags, Inc. (the company that handles RAC) filed for bankruptcy in 2020 which made contract negotiations with Mears complicated as luggage handlers are paid/insured differently. The service also just wasn't very "magical" when you had to haul your own luggage everywhere. Now that Bags, Inc. is back in play (and they have several job openings listed to specifically service the Walt Disney World Resort), the hard part of restoring this service is presumably over. All that's left is a neat contract with Mears, some bus decals and CM uniforms.
It's also very convenient for Disney as there is some nervousness around folks making their 1 day at Universal a 2 day thing (or more) due to Epic Universe. And recently, Disney leadership discussed the importance of the "Disney Bubble." In any event, I think it's coming back.
I like how they are slowly bringing these perks back. It's adding back some of the value of a Disney vacation.I think there's significant hope for Disney's Magical Express to make a return.

I don’t think Disney is calling it anything; that language is from BlogMickey, which said the scheme “is only being communicated to guests via word of mouth to keep it manageable”.I love how they are calling something they did for years a “pilot program”….
I mean I would have thought they’d choose a deluxe to start it, since they usually get more perks anyway. Like one of the monorail resorts.I'm sure everyone at Pop is asking the same thing!
I don’t think this is true. Aren’t all stars larger than pop?Largest WDW resort & Southwest has MCO's largest passenger volume
