I’m pretty sure this is not the reason they changed how rope drop works. If it was just this bridge work, they would adjust the fantasyland approach, not all of Tomorrowland too. Also - I like the new rope drop approach :)

That’s not really how it works. There isn’t “ the” singular construction team. They hire different contractors.
That doesn't necessarily make any difference. There are a finite number of contractors that can build some specific things. and considering the amount of Theme Park construction presently in progress, I'd say the pickings are getting quite slim. It's not like building a tool shed for the back yard. Or it might even be a job that can be handled by the onsite maintenance people that they wouldn't hire an outside source to do. They would probably be doing those non-critical items on a priority basis. One bridge in lands that are accessed by numerous different directions do not a high priority make.

If this is just pavement rework, they can hire a concrete or paving (if they do concrete flatwork) company. Based on the walls, this is a small scale job. These types of companies probably juggle 30-50 of these at a time depending on size. This type of work also doesn’t necessitate a GC, probably just a project manager under FAM or similar to monitor the one company doing the concrete work. Maybe there’s some minor electrical scope that you hire another company to do but it’d be something minor like fix conduit routing or something else. All that said, Disney probably does maintain a list of prequalified companies to do this type of work in the parks and it’s up to those prequalified companies to be able to fit the dates Disney wants into their own schedule

I'm well aware of this, and whichever contractor they hired had an open time during this timeframe. It's the same reason attractions go down for refurbishment at unfortunate times. It's just how it works with the contractor's schedule.

Obviously not, because that’s not how it works. This isn’t like a house where someone might hire a contractor who then tells them their availability. Disney issues an RFP to multiple contractors with the schedule before hiring one. Disney drives the schedule. They also have the Buena Vista Construction Company as a resource.
