Is it too soon to dream about a day trip for Christmas?

We just came home from a tropical vacation. Home is upstate NY, so the weather is kinda garbage. Couple that with post-vacation depression and I'm thinking about the next getaway.

We haven't been to Disney during Christmas in a LOONG time. Like, Osborne Festival of Lights long. I coach volleyball in the winter so it just doesn't work out.

But this year....maybe, just maybe.... we escape after practice, fly in late, stay the next day, another night and fly home the 3rd day.

What's the best time/way to make this happen? Should I try for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party or will it be too insane. We used to plan around the Pop Warner Super Bowl, is that still a thing?

Any advice you have would be terrific! Thanks.

It's never too soon to dream for a Disney trip no matter what time of year it may be. But a Christmas trip is so wonderful because of all the fabulous lights, decorated trees, park decorations, the park atmosphere and the joy you get from being there in the season. We are in discussion right now about a Christmas trip back either this year or next.
Start discussing the details sooner than later. Settle on your dates, where you will be staying, means of transportation, park tickets and plans for the time on property.
Adding in a MVMCP event isn't insane, you have to purchase the tickets once they become available because of the limited number of tickets and dates available. Dates can sell out quickly. (IMHO the Halloween event is better though.)
I believe Pop Warner was Dec 7-14 last year???
