According to the Walt Disney World website, Disney has changed the down payment/monthly payment structure for Annual Passes.

Previously, the down payment when purchasing an Annual Pass using the monthly payment option was $205. It appears that amount has been reduced to $99 for each Annual Pass, with an increase to the monthly payments.

Here's a look at the new monthly payment amounts:

Pixie Dust Pass: $34 (previsouly $25)
Pirate Pass: $66 (previously $57)
Sorcerer Pass: $88 (previously $79)
Incredi-Pass: $130 (previously $121)

I still don’t understand why they don’t offer payment plans for everyone.

As for food discounts, 20% would be fine if it worked at all dining locations.

Either a smart play by Disney or they're not seeing as many new APs?

Universal is playing a very odd game right now with ticketing for Epic Universe... so Disney might be trying to swoop in and capture all those Universal APs that end up waiting to renew with Epic included.

It’s not a discount, just a lower down payment.

It is a very popular option, if not the primary method that APs are sold.

I, honestly, had no clue.
We don’t go to Disney all that often (once every year or two), so we have no use for APs.
As a result, we pay everything off we can for a trip before we even go, and any other expenses we have cash at the ready for, and have never had WDW bills to pay after a trip.
Are those AP finance plans straight up, or is interest involved…?
Probably a dumb question, but… :cyclops:

Because a non FL resident would be more likely to walk away. Buy a pass, take the trip, stop paying on the pass. You just got your trip for the down payment and 1 months payment. Of course you would never be able to go again, but that is the angle some would play.

No interest, all the parks have similar payment plans. I used to work GR and 10000% the most popular way for people to pay. Only putting $200 down then having the rest as a $30-$50 a month 'subscription to go to Disney World' is a pretty good value proposition.
