A common topic is reminiscing over old attractions we were able to ride that have since been lost, always replaced by something brand new, but for some reason I was just thinking about Adventure Thru Inner Space (DLR, I know) and I realized... It was kind of a screen ride of its day, with some neat effects (for its time) and pretty unimpressive static props. I think they could bring that back using modern tech relatively inexpensively, maybe similar to NRJ, and discoveries made since then about subatomic particles like boson, fermions and quarks and make a pretty good omnimover dark ride that cashed in on park nostalgia and it would actually fit well, I think, in Tomorrowland.
Does anyone know if reviving a past ride like this has ever been proposed internally? It would essentially be a brand new ride using the original as inspiration. Maybe like CoP was for Horizons? Or I suppose even more directly, Mission: Space from Rocket to the Moon/Mission to Mars. What other rides from the past do you think could be revived, or inspire a new ride, using modern technology? The more I think about it the more I want to see a new Inner Space!
