Buying Gift Cards

I'm planning to buy around $5K in Disney Gift Cards for an upcoming trip and I'm curious about the best ways to purchase them. Which stores typically have the best promotions? I don't have membership, expect for Prime. Additionally, do you have any recommendations for credit cards that would be advantageous for making this purchase?

Target Red Card (debit or credit) will give you 5% off Disney gift cards. They'll also put Circle deals out that will save you a bit more. For instance, I recently had one that said "Spend $100 4 times, earn $40 cash back." So I spent $125 four times (to make sure the discount on the $100 gift card didn't drop me below the $100 requirement). That got me $500 of gift cards for $475, then I got $40 back as well, so $500 for $435. These deals happen every few weeks. Sometimes the deals aren't great.

There's a thread on a different Disney board that really keeps up with all the gift card deals and what the best ones to grab are. Normally 10% off is the upper echelon we shoot for.

Many times our local grocery stores run “specials” on gift cards. Like buy so many and get money off gas, or something. It can help.
The best deals I found for our recent trip was at Sam’s Club, but if you don’t have any of those memberships, that won’t help. As suggested above, I would check out the thread on here about savings!

100% its before discount total...if you need to spend $100 a $100 gift card for $95 counts
