Quick DAS question

So my family is heading down this weekend for my daughter’s cheer competition and we are visiting Magic Kingdom with my three young boys Friday. My youngest (4) had to have surgery last week (four pins in the elbow due to a bad break). We are not sure if we will allow him to ride much but I was wondering if it was even worth talking to cast about DAS in the event there is a ride or two he wants to ride. (Obviously not any of the coasters). Thoughts? Not trying to game the system but I certainly don’t want to risk someone banging his arm in line even though he has a pretty extensive cast.

It doesn’t hurt to ask but I would be shocked if he qualified. DAS seems to be reserved for more severe developmental disabilities (like autism) where no other accommodations will work now.

They will probably recommend return to queue where he will stand outside the line (with you or your partner) while the rest of the family waits in line, then you’ll meet up with them at the lightning lane merge point.

Probably not what you want to hear but that’s the most likely scenario. Hopefully he’ll still have a wonderful trip and heal quickly.

Given that DAS is now restricted to people with developmental and/or cognitive disabilities, I do not expect you would qualify. Have you seen the information about the Attraction Queue Re-entry/Meetup process? If you will have another adult with you, it may be an option

If you're worried about something knocking into his arm you're going to have a serious problem everywhere. If anything, lines are going to be significantly safer than the paths where it's a free-for-all.

Unfortunately because so many guests scammed and took advantage of the program that many with real needs utilized, they’ve ruined a worthwhile program. Disney is holding the line and is standing firm that only those with developmental disabilities can use it. They are not budging for any other need no matter how it could assist you and your child.
I find it discriminatory and it has made many guests with disabilities have less than enjoyable trips.
You’ll have to be more cautious and maybe find a way to pad or cushion the elbow more to provide protection. Disney isn’t going to give you any leeway on this.
