CSR Post-Tower

Hi Everyone,

We are planning a last-minute trip to see the Muppets one more time (RIP). We can get a great deal with the free dining promo for CSR. We stayed there several times before the tower was built and really liked the resort. We aren't bothered by the size or buses like many people. However, I assume that things would feel much more crowded now with the new tower. We plan to spend time at the pool and would likely use the quick-service. Any thoughts on how the resort feels now vs. pre-tower?

We've stayed deluxe most recently at OKW and AKL. We would miss having a balcony at the moderate level, but hate to pass up such a great deal. Port Orleans is also available, though slightly more that CSR. I assume that either side of PO might feel more relaxed, but we do like the CSR theming. I appreciate any opinions from folks who have been to either moderate lately.

Coronado is definitely going to feel more lively and more like a deluxe than Port Orleans. I’ve stayed here lots and it’s never felt overly crowded compared to before the tower. The resort has more than enough food options to handle everyone and pools can get busy but have always found a chair.

Port Orleans is great as well, and probably has the best entertainment options on property with yeehaw bob and the jazz band that plays at French quarter. Also has the boat to Disney Springs. It’s going to be a quieter resort overall though. Just depends what mood you’re looking for.

Agree with castlecake so I'm just adding on here. We like the tower addition and find that changes have improved CSR. The bridges are great and make getting around easier. Overall dining is far better at CSR with additions like Toledo, Three Bridges, Dahlia Lounge, and Barcelona Lounge. If looking for more quick service than table service I think it's a wash and pretty even.

Both CSR and PO are huge so both generally absorb crowds well, but like castlecake was getting at, they feel very different because of sightlines. CSR plays with its size in a grand way and feels even bigger than it is, whereas PO plays down its size and feels smaller than it is. CSR can feel busy at the main pool and we have had trouble finding a spot, but I have had trouble at most main moderate and deluxe pools at some point.
