Can Disney finally upgrade the projection faces and CGI and Buzz's face in the queue and some portions of the ride?
Because money. How is this not closed? Represented in Hollywood Studios already, it’s a dinosaur pre-technology, doesn’t make sense in Tomorrowland. Close and replace.
Space Mountain is just as bad with the work lights on. The entire land needs a thorough rehab. This is just lipstick on a VERY filthy pig if it doesn't include a proper refurbishment. Not even kidding when I say that this ride is THE most disgusting attraction on property. Hell, probably the nastiest Disney attraction in the world. This ride has been a gigantic mold colony for at LEAST 15+ years now. It's very noticeable under the UV black lights (which illuminates many species of mold, producing glowing spots). But when the work lights come on....woof. Whole place looks like a Jackson Pollock painting if he went through a goth phase...
I don't know how long it has been this way. I first rode it in 2010 and it was apparent that the show building had a badly leaking roof at some point due to severely water damaged and molded ceilings and walls, scenery had been hit as well. The Peoplemoved tunnel was impacted too, with severely damaged ceilings. I assume they have fixed the leak at least, the ceiling of the Peoplemover tunnel was also repaired. But Buzz's damage has never really been addressed.
The whole interior needs to be deeply scrubbed down at the bare minimum, with bleach or whatever is necessary. Walls, floors, props etc. Wherever the damage is too extensive for cleaning along, rip out drywall and ceiling tiles and replace it. Ceiling tiles probably just need to be ripped out and replaced outright. They're going to have to repaint everything anyway.
I'm convinced they saw how much money Disney Quest saved by never fixing the broken games that they decided to use the same maintenance routine for Buzz Lightyear.the blasters need a desperate upgrade. cant say how many times we rode it & 1 of us had a blaster that barely works.
Also new AAImagine how this attraction would look if LIGHTYEAR wasn't a box office dud.
But at minimum this attraction needs: New AA projection, New AA VO. New blasters (different laser colors between players 1 and 2) and new mural decals.
As a bonus: Video projection effects and practical fog bursts at Zurg scene.
Available at the next AA meeting! Also new AAbatteriespower cells.
Taking all bets, despite one of them being abandoned, what's in a worst state? SGE or Buzz? This needs an extensive refurbishment. Should probably be burned first to remove the mold, bacteria, and viral particles.
