Steadily is a bit of a reach. Theming is what saves Disney.
2015 - Disney Springs
2017 - Pandora
2018 - Toy Story Land
2019 - Galaxys Edge
2020 - MMRR (other plans were put on hold)
2021 - Remys, 2 new firework shows, Space 220
2022 -Cosmic Rewind
2023 - Journey of Water, new firework show, return of HEA, Tron
2024 - Communicore Hall, TBA, CBMJ
2025 - Villians Show, Mermaid Show, Test Track, Zootopia, new parade.

Wouldn’t even be close to what universal did in that same time.

3 new lands (with 6 completely new rides)
4 additional completely new rides
2 SIGNIFICANT ride rethemes
1 new stage show
1 updated stage show
1 revamped animatronix show
1 new walkthrough attraction
1 revamped mixed media show
2 new firework shows
New parade
General aesthetic updates to various lands
Revamp of their shopping district

I’d love to see another theme park company that compares

To say you'd love to see another theme park company that compares, while ignoring what Universal does is blasphemy.
The biggest flaw is that is also takes Disney typically 5+ years from announcement to completion. Sometimes it's worse!

Kong - 2016
Jimmy Fallon - 2017
F & F - 2018
Hagrid's - 2019 (arguably the best themed roller coaster in the world)
Velocicoaster - 2021 (arguably the best thrill roller coaster in the world)
Dreamworks Land (by your math - 4-6 attractions) - 2024
-New night show at USF - 2024
-New parade at USF - 2024
-Minions Villian con - 2024
-Hogwarts Projection show - 2024
AN ENTIRE NEW THEME PARK in 2025. 16 attractions, plus interactive elements, dining, new hotels.

This doesn't include upgrades to thematic environments like the Minions section, the City Walk updates with the Universal-Escape style rooms etc.

I am very happy with what Disney is promising to build. But....it's already been 2 years in some cases, and we aren't very far long at all and with no short end in sight. I really hope they fast track, because the attractions they are promising will be worth it.

Kong, Fallon, and F&F are all cheaped out flops. The kong exterior is gorgeous, but the experience is a let down.

My theory is that they’re trying to get away from huge announcement dumps at D23, and to space things more evenly.

There have been things announced very recently that could have been saved for D23. Including the new cruise ship, Magic of Disney Animation, and the updated Cars concept art. Those all could easily have been saved for D23, and yet they chose to release them just beforehand. I think - again, just my theory - that having a huge announcement-a-thon might be less desirable for Disney because everyone talks about it nonstop for a few weeks and then is on to the next thing. A series of small events allows the fandom to talk and vlog and post on social media almost nonstop.

That said, I do think they will drop a few cool updates and at least one new project at D23. If they had zilch, again, why announce other things just before this event?

Kong was a lot better than I initially remembered, but yes - it should have been more.

The other two...hopefully are on their way out in fast fashion, especially if the RRR coaster change is to F&F theme as heavily rumored.
**I still like Jimmy more than the Twister walk through, and the F&F attraction is pretty much the same level of boring that was there before it, but with an IP. Yeah they are not good attractions overall, but in a sense...still steps up from what was before it.

Definitely looks like F&F will be headed out imminently. Hopefully Fallon is next.

Disney certainly take longer for construction, but it seems a little disingenuous to punish a company for letting fans in on the process early. Many may not like it, but many more do.
You're not wrong at all -- but after something like Villians land, which had some smaller leaks in 2023 and aimed completion by 2030; It adds to the frustrations of fans IMO.

Okay so you proved my point between 2019-2024, there was 1 new attraction. I was talking about consistency. 2016-2018 were dark years…

I'll go in on this theory by positing (again) that the Villains panel is where we're going to get an update.

Join Disney Experiences (and some of your favorite troublemakers) for a panel discussion on how Disney Villains experiences come to life around the world. Hear directly from the creative minds behind new projects and attractions, plus enjoy a special Villains-themed medley to kick off Destination D23 day 2.

If they were going to talk about any project, I think Villain's is the least controversial other than Tropical Americas even though Villains is going to take up the top part of ROA. I feel that people were at least ready to give up that part of the river to make the loop complete (no more dead end at HM or BTMRR) but still wanted part of the ROA to remain in-tact along with TSI and the LB. I think talking about Monsters or Cars at DD23 would have been a wrong move and I think that's why Disney is possibly steering clear of talking about that now. I highly suspect that any more updates on those projects will probably be on social media unless we get anything else next year at D23. But I feel that Villains is safe territory and I think people definitely want updates on this new area, especially if they have any concrete concept art or actual details about attractions or things to be found in the land. But again, that could possibly be something they'd want to hold until next year. Time will tell.

2019-2024 was more than 1 new attraction. Hagrid's 2019, Bourne Stuntacular 2020, Velocicoaster 2021,Villain-Con was 2023 and DreamWorks Land play areas with the DreamWorks show being new-new 2024. I don't think it's fair to say Universal haven't opened anything new since Kong when they have every year except 2022 since Kong in 2016.

I understood their post as saying Kong was the only non-replacement since 2016 until EU opened. If that is what they meant, then none of the items you listed would count as "true expansions".

ETA: I haven't been since they opened the new DreamWorks land so not sure how much true expansion there was in that area, but I don't remember reading about any.

Could also see the Studios panel giving and update on the Mando update to Falcon (since connected to the movie) and/or the Animation Courtyard update since it is based on Once Upon a Studio

Plus both of those are likely to be complete before next years Expo

DreamWorks wasn't an expansion unfortunately, I was more addressing this part of what they said before the expansion bit as I took it they meant Universal doesn't build anything new.
Disney has been steadily building new things. Universal simply doesn't, this is their first true expansion since KONG

I definitely think there will be Villains updates. Monsters? 50/50. Cars, no way. Cruise ships definitely.

My guess is that there will also be one new announcement not related to a previous project. I feel like a drone show, Moana ride, or Stitch show are good candidates. All have been heavily rumored so more “mid level” surprises (assuming they’ll save huge stuff for expo years) but all pretty safe in that they’d likely be well received and uncontroversial. Overlay of the speedway, new lounge, new show (get the Descendants in there for Halloween!) or updates to Castaway Cay would be my distant fourth guesses.

That is what I meant yes. Everything else has replaced something despite there still being some areas to expand with longggggggg closed attractions.

Honestly, I forgot that Bourne opened in 2020 and when Villian-Con/Velocicoaster opened. That's gonna be a my bad on that one. But to clarify when I meant between, I meant between as in 2020-2023 (I'm still wrong but less like a complete idiot)

You really want to throw out this line while championing Disney World?

Your posts have repeatedly demonstrated an inability to judge Universal fairly. That was a pretty common attitude among Disney fans a while back but is fortunately less common now. It is very possible to enjoy BOTH resorts and judge them on their merits. If you feel praise for Universal endangers your appreciation of Disney, probably best just to ignore the Comcast parks.

Now why would i do that? I'm literally going to Universal this October for HHN and to check some other stuff out. I want Universal to be the best park it can be. I've never really thought it had to be an "us vs them" because its not.

Disney has a problem with attractiosn laying empty but definitely less so. Stitch makes sense but should be SOMETHING.

Everything else should be filled in ASAP.
