DHS MuppetVision 3-D's Future: Potential Disney Park Venues and Vision Pro Immersive Experience

I don't recall Muppets 3D ever having much in the way of tech issues, but I hope everything's looking in tip-top shape for the archival? (Why don't they do these things when the attraction is brand new?!)

Also, everyone in attendance should wear 80s clothing to match the final scene when the theater blows up!

Saw it twice yesterday and the second time the curtain for the left box never opened to reveal Beane ... He was still there and moving so you could see the curtain move at times. Was a little funny as Sweatums still did the "oh there's nothing up there but a bunny" - but you couldn't see said bunny.

(Though I do think it generally runs well, just was a bit funny)

I would hope Disney has lots of B-Roll/archival footage of their rides, and that we just don't see it because they want us to go to the parks to experience it.

I know there's footage of the original Country Bear Jamboree from right before MK's opening, as well as souvenir film reels of both MK and DL versions from the 70s; footage of Small World and Pirates, etc etc, on top of anything they've filmed for advertisements and promotional videos. Surely most attractions from the 70s onwards have footage Disney filmed themselves for archival reasons.
The closest to anything from the Grand Opening is this picture..

I never really thought about it until now, but what is the outside location supposed to be? I always just assumed it was meant to be the park itself, but that looks it's a random town? Is there a definitive answer?!

I believe originally the show was going to go into Main Street in Disneyland. Thus the fire truck and Main Street crowd in the background.

It was filmed on the town square set at the Disney backlot, which is why it doesn’t look exactly like an existing park. But I do believe it is supposed to be DHS since you can see Pluto and Mickey Balloons.

I should also mention that when they first were doing testing with the AA's before they were added to the theater they did an Animatic test with the film and it shows how the AA's had extra movements by Statler and Waldorf and you can see how all the penguins reacted during the film better in this Especially the Swedish Chef and how he switched from shooting at the the theater to turing around and becomes the Cannon..Really neat stuff to watch for in this.....Enjoy!

That's a great video! Man that show is still incredibly impressive all these years later, with a ton of animatronics animated for nearly the entire duration of the show. What a shame we're losing this
