It sure as heck is a slap in the face. The original Journey into Imagination (which, unfortunately, I only saw on video) was amazing. Now the ride's a lame joke. The Imagineers should focus on fixing THAT, spend the money restoring and plussing a WDW original instead of putting irrelevant puppets in RnRC. Good grief, what a mess...
The muppets aren’t irrelevant but…

What I’m curious about is whether they will change to a sloped floor. It seems like it would be difficult to see even for the villains show if the floor stays flat.
They can add in staggered seating quite easily as opposed to changing the floor.
Considering Apple is killing off the Vision Pro... and will likely only stay 'comitted' to updates for it as long as they have remaining inventory to sell...
The Apple supply chain suggests they are working on an updated version of Apple Vision Pro as well as a lower priced Apple Vision model to be released in 2026. Either way VR/AR headsets are going to be around in some shape of form into the future.

I prefer the latter with HISTA since the Institute theme is sticking around until "If" & "When" they make an announcement with the Pavilion..
I completly agree. Although I have never taken the time two watch Pixar Shorts, I have always felt that putting back Honey I shrunk the Audience would make more sense so the theme for Journey into Imagination with Figment would make more sense.

This might get me kicked off the forum (not really) but I’d be open to a Muppet Labs retheme of Figment. We could put MuppetVision in the Magic Eye, replace Waldo with Figment (a blessing) and replace Nigel Channing with Dr. Honeydew & Beaker (another blessing).

The funny/sad thing about this is WDI hasn’t come close to creating a more entertaining and more humorous show in the past 30+ years. A statement on their show writers as much as anything.
Has there EVER been a more entertaining or more humorous show than MuppetVision in a Disney park? Heck, I sure wouldn’t want the job to try to write something funnier than the Muppets at their peak.

It already did.

Universal Studios Florida even has more opening day and year attractions/venues than DHS does.

Although identity with DHS is the bigger issue.
DHS modern identity should be a showcase of all the flagship franchises of all the studios under the company's umbrellas against the background of a romanticized old Hollywood (ex: Tower of Terror, Brown Derby, Crossroads, Hyperion).

This would explain why and how Mickey (WDAS), Toy Story (Pixar), Star Wars and Indy (Lucasfilms), and Muppets (Muppet Studio) all exist in the same park. All that was missing was Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox.*

Monsters Inc. sorta puts an end to this theme though since Pixar is already represented. At least it matches their equally odd placement in DCA.

*EDIT: Now that I think of it, Mickey sort of represents the pre animated feature film era so squeezing in a flagship WDAS feature film could even work. Same with Walt Disney Productions.

In fairness, Lucasfilm has two franchises represented, so maybe Monsters can get a pass.

Not in my eyes.

"Yes, it's a glorious 3-hour finale!"

"You got a minute and a half!"

That would make sense if Monstropolis, Galaxy's Edge and Andy's Backyard had old Hollywood as their backgrounds. They don't. They are complete immersion transportative lands

What we have are immersion lands not tied together with two and a half of them being old Hollywood and everything else being a an animated land or another galaxy's world.

Which leaves us only with They own it" as cohesion.

Eh, I think "Hollywood/Movies as transports into other worlds" could work if they wanted it to. Have Hollywood Blvd, Sunset, and the "Hub" all be themed to Hollywood and "The Movies," and then you go "into" the movies worlds. I think that "could" work and isn't really all that different from Epic's overall design. Not saying that is what the park is right now, but I do think they could make it that fairly easily.

This is what I'm saying. I would plus up the existing Hollywood sections of the park with a bunch of meet and greets of some of the staple characters + Mickey & Friends in director/actor outfits etc then have each "land" based on a studio have some plaque or something talking about entering a new movie.

Speaking of EO, my random, not thought out thought of the day is If they ever want to shut down Figment to reimagine it to its former glory but still draw people to the pavilion, all they need to do is run a 21st century remake of EO starring Taylor Swift.
Or just show Honey I Shrunk the Audience since no news of an update happened for the time being instead of a pointless short show you can see all of them online..

TAA - Daa!! No need for them in The Magic Eye Theater
