Without knowing the details of what they actually did, Alice in Wonderland feels like a much, much better fit for a potential adult party than this.

The Tiana hidden animals thing very much describes something aimed at children.
Tiana at the Contemporary - New Orleans cuisine , adult fun in the Big Easy where I enjoyed a number of times visiting , some parts I don't remember , equates to adults having a grand ol' time to ring in the New Years. I don't recall seeing young children with their parents on Bourbon St where many of us were plastered and what those ladies would do to get those beads! Tiana party is a great idea and I would think it will sell out of tickets. Nothing bizarre about it and pure genius by Disney to create this party atmosphere for guests.

You clearly didn't read the description of the event.

What exactly about Louis and other critter friends crashing the party and Mama Odie casting spells to hide them, and then visitors have to help Tiana find them sounds anything like a New Orleans Bourbon Street party?

It sounds like a kid's birthday party.

New Orleans cuisine , music, entertainment etc , Tiana story background looks like a great time for adults. Don't recall seeing little ones on Bourbon Street late night when visiting a number of times with similar food music etc. Have you looked at the menu and description of the event ? Agree to disagree. Its not bizarre its brilliant for Disney to pull this off.

How authentic will it be ? Mugging, gunshots, prostitutes, and a myriad of blinking signature drink cups ?

Why do you keep bringing up New Orleans and Bourbon Street? This event is nothing like that and doesn't intend to be anything like that, which you can tell from Disney's own description.

The menu is not for kids, which I already said, and that's exactly why this event feels like a weird mishmash of competing interests. The food is aimed at adults, but the headlining activities are directed towards kids.

Disney does well to have adults reconnect with their inner child mindset and cashes in.

Soo many hand grenades from either The Funky Pirate or Tropical Isle

DWifey and myself have only been to NOLA twice, and our kiddos only once, so I’m not familiar with those places and had to Google.
The Funky Pirate is permanently closed, but Tropical Isle is still there.
We had hurricanes at Pat O’Brien’s when we were there for our youngest DDs 21st birthday in Sept. of 2015, among other things.

A kinda’ funny story…
DWifey and I were in NOLA for the first time in Dec. of 1990, for our 2nd wedding anniversary. At the time, she was early in pregnancy with our first daughter.
One morning we decided to check out Ripley’s Believe It or Not! (we also took a boat ride on the Mississippi and a cemetery bus tour).
We were about halfway through the labyrinth that is the way it’s laid out, when my DWifey started to feel morning sickness coming on.
She quickly went ahead to find a ladies room.
She was taking quite a while, so I quickened my pace. Shortly after, I basically just walked straight through the rest of the place, and didn’t see one restroom.
When I got outside, she was sitting on the curb with a cop questioning her…she had puked in the gutter, and he thought she was some random woman who was still drunk/hungover from the night before…!!!!! :hilarious:
We finally convinced the cop that she was just experiencing morning sickness, and went along our merry way back to our hotel, so DWifey could chill for a bit.
We still joke about it, to this day…!!! :)

Also, my apologies for the thread drift.

At least it is so expensive Disney will have tons of open spots to invite Tim Tracker and other Vloggers to drum up business for next year.

I do not think I would pay anything over $199 for this and that is really only because the fireworks view. I may go up to $229 if they actually had a decent theme lol

For that price, my wife and I could fly to New Orleans for the weekend.

I'm sure there are people who will pay that price, and Disney will make money, but not from me.

Vacationing at the Big Easy is a wild drunken time with great jazz, drinks and food . What those ladies will do to get those beads! We didn't venture outside the Quarter late night where we were warned not to go to.

A private fireworks cruise is a much better deal, and worth every penny.

Only if you want it to be. There is much more about NOLA than what is confined to the Bourbon St area.
