i haven’t been disappointed with the cookies from gideon’s or their cold brew coffees, but i wasn’t a big fan of the cake slices. too much buttercream frosting that’s way too sweet for my taste, but it’s a better deal vs $20+ for a cake slice

Absolutely agree. $25 for a slice of cake makes this place DOA. Even if they were to lower the price by half, it will always be remembered as the overpriced cake place. Remember Ruby Tuesdays? They had one item on their menu that was 2200 cal and they got the reputation for having unhealthy food. They immediately took that item off and added in lower calorie items, but it was too late. Initial impressions are hard to shake.

Plus, it’s almost impossible to park at the Boardwalk without a dinner reservation or a resort reservation. $25 cake that’s hard to get to is a recipe for disaster.

Actually, my wife is looking forward to the Cake Bake Shop, to be honest. My wife said that she read an article about how the owner was oh so wonderful and very hospitable. Here's another choice: We personally like Amorette's Patisserie at Downtown Disney for scrumptious desserts.

Here's another fun video:

And for other delicious treats, who could not pass by the Main Street Confectionary at MK, a delicious and delectable delight:

And there's also always Goofy's Candy Shop at Disney Springs, another scrumptious place to get yummy treats:

Off to play with sweet sweet Belle, then get some very scrumptious food at Chilis for their delicious food and wonderful service! Hope you can have time to have some fun today. Again, Happy Halloween!

Never been to either but I'm actively boycotting Bake Shop. I'm a baker with my own bakery so don't really visit other ones other than to scope out the competition but Bake Shop prices are criminal. Gideons looks good but I'm happy with the Disney made counter service cup cakes and cookies should I want baked goods.

I go out of my way for Gideons every time. Yes, $6 is expensive for a cookie, but they are so large, and so packed of stuff, I can easily justify it. Think this is the first time I've seen a Cake Bake shop cookie, and whoa. That legit looks like it has 2 chocolate chips in the entire thing. It may taste absolutely amazing, but there's such little value for $7. Maybe there truly is a demographic for this place (I mean, it does do well in Indiana with these prices), but I genuinely struggle to understand who that might be.

In my opinion - looking at the offerings of the Cake Bake Shop, I so not see it as a casual drop in as park of your park touring day, I see that cake and I imagine I want to take a nap after eating that sugar/calorie filled cake.

The cake does not travel well so you cant purchase, and eat it later.

In my opinion I see the Cake Bake Shop as for folks staying in the resorts on the boardwalk, pick up a slice and end of day, and bring it back to the room to split for a snack before bed.

I may be wrong, but In my opinion I do not see this making it after the newness wares off.

As I said in my past posts, In my opinion I give the Cake Bake Shop a year and a half.

You also don't have a fridge to put it in if you are staying on property, cause, Dinsey.

If one can spend $500 or more per night at Boardwalk perhaps Disney thinks they will drop $26 for a slice of cake before bedtime?
