Pop Century is no longer a Value Resort

Yeah I was looking in April 2025 and the price is as much a POFQ in November. I can’t justify spending that much. Even worse is how much will be closed by April. It’s bonkers for how expensive the hotels are getting.

All star shoebox rooms at Pop with a Skyliner views.

Given my intense fear of heights, I would never consider riding the Skyliner, so Pop Century is out as a possible choice for me anyway. But how do these prices compare with the other "value" resorts?

Random day in December -
Art of Animation - $262
Pop Century - $248
All star Movies / Music - $191
All Star Sports - $179

Cheapest moderates are $280 (Coronado and Riverside)

Of note - Dolphin is only $285 and that’s with the daily resort fee. Of course parking is extra if you need it but if you aren’t parking that’s a great deal compared to the moderates.

I mean you're looking in December, all the prices are gonna be jacked up. I just picked a random day in September 2025 and it's less than $235. Picked a random day in May and it's $227. Picked a random day in July and it's $236. It stays in it's recent normal range throughout most of the year.

The prices are gonna correspond to what's going on at the time and December is gonna be all the Christmas stuff, so naturally it's going to be pricer than it is at other times of year. The prices raising for the Christmas season isn't really a new phenomenon. That's kinda to be expected.

It's real easy to kick up dust about this when you cherry pick one specific time that is notorious for resort wide increases on everything from rooms to tickets.

I would say all those price points are overpriced for what you get at POP and would not qualify that as a "Value" either by Disney or my own standards

And I say that as someone who stayed at Pop multiple times pre-Skyliner, including after the major room refurb.
