December Trip

So because of Milton we postponed our trip and are now going the week of Dec 16th. I know the week from Christmas to New Years the crowds are nuts, but how are things the week before Christmas? We normally go in October around Columbus Day when crowds are a little heavier, and have been during spring break time as well, so have had varying crowd levels at those times.

Dont know how Milton will affect guests rescheduling trips to that time but in past years when we went before the Christmas week, it went from manageable crowds to being much buzier crowds. A lot of guests wanted to get in on the holiday events and decorations but leave before Christmas day to spend the holiday at home. We still were able to enjoy the trip without too crazy waits but it did have a much more crowded feel.

The good thing is as crowds ramp up the closer to Christmas you get, AP blockouts start Thurs Dec 19th. We arrived Sat Dec 16th last year to an all day absolute monsoon, that’s why you’ll see very low crowd levels that date last year. That week is a tad busier overall than Columbus week, like the difference between CL 5-7 vs CL 6-8.

EP is best T/W/Th, MK so much better T/Th/F than during non-party days. Wed is likely best day to do HS, even if it closes 2 hours earlier for JN.

Tues EP, Wed HS, Thur AK, Fri MK has a good shot at avoiding the busiest days at each park.

I’m not sure how Milton and Helene rescheduled trips will impact that week. My guess is not by much because the rebooked trips will be spread across many months. It’s going to be a small slice that can fit that week into their schedule on short notice and be able find availability that works for them. The best picks and discounts are easiest to find further out so that could drive most of the rebookings into 2025.
