Hurricane Milton coming to FL

Nope, not replaced but sheared. From NHC:

WSR-88D radar images from Tampa and Key West show that Milton is a
sheared hurricane, with the heaviest precipitation to the north of
the center, and the eye open on the south side. This structure was
confirmed by a recent Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter mission,
where the eyewall was reported open to the southwest. The plane
reported that the pressure has risen during the past few hours, with
the latest center drop supporting a minimum pressure of 948 mb.
Based on this pressure, and the reduction of measured flight-level
winds, the intensity is estimated to be 105 kt. The highest
Doppler velocities from the Tampa radar have been between 100 and
105 kt.

Hoping this helps intensity levels at least

Geez, these tornados- is this normal this many tornados this far from the core? Like, it seems crazy Milton hasn’t made landfall on the west but Vero Beach is getting a large tornado.

yeah....those winds now for Orlando as it moves north, and the flooding. Hold tight central. its moving with the wobble as we get to the finale of the wonder.

Tornadoes are common in outer rainbands when the storm is near, due to conditions of winds but local meteorologists are saying these were some of the worst and the ones like the one in Clewiston were the largest some working have ever seen in FL period. More twisters than Ian caused.

No, the amount of tornadoes and the size of these tornadoes is not normal. Some of these tornadoes are absolute monsters. This outbreak is something you'd see in the plains

6-9 feet in Tampa Bay would still be catastrophic, even if greatly reduced from initial expectations.
Yeah - not good. One write up this hour mentioned water is pulling out of Tampa Bay at first, then changing direction tonight leading into high tide in the wee hours. So I think it’s late in the night the highest levels likely to arrive, also mentioned strong waves expected above that.

I’m familiar with Tampa area after my grandmother moved to Pinellas Park in the ‘70s and mother moved to Seminole ‘90s. My Dad, other grandmother and great grandfather moved to Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda early ‘80s. None of them live there today. Mind boggling watching the frequency of serious threats these past few years. All 5 properties could get punched by Milton tonight.

On CNN a doctor was on advising on how much bacteria the floodwaters have and how it can wreck a person's digestive system if the person swallows the contaminated waters.

Depends on the storm and other conditions. Hurricane Ivan in 04 was a significant tornado maker (could hold the record) with 127 tornados. With such unstable air, it certainly isnt uncommon for hurricanes to produce them
