News New Villains Show Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Summer 2025

They certainly could be testing out concepts for entertainment in a land opening in 6 years. That in no way prevents them from designing and building spaces to house that entertainment sooner. You can build a theater before you know what, specifically, will be in there.

This concept is a bit satirical. Does that style work? We shall see.
6 years 😭 So painful to hear that out loud even though I know that is what is realistic.

This is basically a small attraction that will both serve as a proof of concept for the Land, and wet the appetite for the full land. Most likely this is switched out after Villains Land opens.
I think it’s similar to how they opened Star Wars Launch Bay to be a home for Star Wars while the full land was designed and built. A quicker and cheaper way to capitalize on the IP while your bigger, more expensive, more fully realized version isn’t ready yet.

Anyone want to take bets which will eventually close first?

This, Launch Bay or Frozen Singalong?

;)

I’ll take a shot at it…
1. Launch Bay quietly closes one day because Disney doesn’t want to pay CMs to staff it anymore. The building sits empty until they finally announce an Animation Courtyard project at D23 in 2030 (2028 if we’re lucky)
2. Villains closes around 5 years after the MK land opens. It’s replaced by a lightly Muppet themed restaurant.
3. Frozen lasts another 20 years and, by the time Disney replaces it, people on this forum complain that they’re getting rid of a classic show.

but will BATB still be around then? lol If ever a show needed retiring......I would rather watch Dick Tracy in Diamond Double Cross...lol

Nailed it.

Of course it will. That show will turn off the lights to the park the day water levels rise to the point we all have to abandon Florida.

Anyone have any idea whether any of these new "summer" releases would be expected to be open Memorial Day weekend? Or is it more likely they release mid-June & July? Planned a trip in early June for new experiences but they consistently move back timelines. Thanks!
